That's interesting. I have a tangential question. Is the analogue stick supposed to twist? Like, when you take it by your index finger and thumb you can twist it like a clock slightly. Also, have you ever been using it and then it just randomly crunches for some reason or another? Yeah, by design they twist a couple of millimeters so nothing to worry about. If it feels gritty there maybe some crap inside the pad, take apart and clean, blow or gently hoover over the naked analog stick it's self pointing it in all directions as you do. The naked stick is a self contained unit soldered to the board so cant be taken apart, your see the top is exposed though and that's where your want two blow the crap out of...

Firestorm Thunderhawk 2 doesn't work with in either mode with the 3D pad either which I thought was a shame, would have been good on the thumbstick but then again that game doesn't even support game saves, it uses passwords

I think the only games that work with the 3D controller that were released before 1996 are those that are programmed to recognise the steering wheel like Sega Rally.

That's right a lot of games can at least use the D-pad but there are some like Firestorm that can't

I've got a bucket (literally) full of 3D controllers with partially or totally broken analogue sticks, ones that drift in one direction or indeed try to drift in every direction. I'd actually be interested if anyone had replaced the 3D controllers analogue stick with something else? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By any chance do you know how to re-assemble the analogue stick on the 3-D controller?

I'll be honest... I'm struggling to remember the method I had for getting it all back together correctly, I've not dismantled one for some years, all I remember is how much of a dick that spring was. At the moment the base of the stick seems to be fouling the pad casing every time I screw it back togeather, grr.
