MIK I felt it vital that I update the situation.
So I ridded myself of the 36 inch Trinitron that was unfortunately not savabale.
However a week later I obtained a 27" Trinitron and its great! Id consider the screen/tube health 80-85% still which is great! Everything looks great so far. Definitely worth the extra effort to find the right one and I admit the size, 9 inches smaller, actually is much better anyway!
So far Ive tested VF2, Panzer Dragoon, and Nights on it just to get the feel and all looks fantastic. Can't wait to toss Astal and Magic Knight Rayearth on it tonight to see the colors really pop!

Nice to hear you have found a better condition one! One thing I will say at this point..., where possible try and use external speakers instead of the ones inside the TV. The TV may last longer overall if the electronics are not being vibrated to death. Just don't go using old speakers with big magnets as they will damage the tube of course, or if that's your only option then place them away from the screen. Nothing better than having a reason to check out all your fav games all over again, enjoy!

if you want to pay 200$ then get a framemeister for a little more. I've seen it looks better than old crt's only thing worse is no lightgun games. that's where you need a crt for and I need one for as well

Its likely an option I will check out but Im waiting for the next step in that technology. The Light Gun game issue is still big since some of my favorites on Saturn are of that genre (HOTD, VC, Area 51). However another board member mentioned a possible solution in the future even for that.

The only issue with this TV is that the screen appears to be off just a little as far as tilt. Very slight but noticable. Ive heard this can be fixed or recalibrated through service menus. I will have to get a remote. The only slight thing I need to get over, and its ever so minor, is the larger screen not being as sharp as my 13 inch Trinitron. Being smaller, that screen looks incredible crisp but I probably got too used to it. That being said Im sure Ill easily warm up to this 27 inch.

If it's not that bad and more a case that you only really notice a slight picture tilt because your looking for things being new and all..., given enough time it can correct it's self if the screen is now level. Depending on how strong the earths magnet core is in your area - a year or 2, angle of tilt depending... You can always plug a Dreamcast, Classix XBOX, PS2 or a DVD player (4:3 movie) on your screen to get instant results from the TV and to fine tune it. Right now the Saturn's lower res is making those scan lines standout more, (until you get used to it). Hit it hard this weekend and those scan lines will slowly disappear.

Micomsoft likes keeping their products around for a while.

Im not sure what better would consist of as Ive heard the FM is pretty good but I've heard certain areas where it could work better with Saturn.
