So I'm in the market for a Framemeister for mostly Saturn gaming on my plasma and I have a few questions about it. I assume this scart cable is the one I need: www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/sega/saturn/sega-saturn-rgb-av-scart-cable-tv-lead-cord-for-saleBut is the CSYNC worth the extra 10 pounds? Secondly, what do I use for the power adapter? I'm in Europe, I have this PSTV power adapter which is rated 5V, would it work? Third: do I need a specific Saturn model to best enjoy RGB?

Framemeister requires c-sync, so you would need a cable like that.

The framemeister comes with a universal power supply, at least mine did when I bought it beginning of 2015. C-Sync is preferable, but the framemeister will accept composite video as sync in a pinch. There's a sync level option in the menu to dial up if there's any sync issues. I haven't needed the sync-cleaner cable yet I bought. Make sure your saturn supports C-Sync. I know the USA ones do, can't speak for other regions.

Besides when it blanks out for a few seconds when some 32bit era games switch between 240P/480i, no complaints. The ability to save profiles for different systems and custom zoom/crop options is very useful.

The cable is £10 more expensive because PAL Saturn's don't output csync natively. Honestly you really shouldn't need csync with the Framemeister most of the time anyway. I used a SCARt to FM adapter with a sync cleaner in it and never once needed to touch the sync level control.

It's just wired differently, no difference otherwise. Just buy the correct MiniDIN to SCART adapter.

If you're handy with a solder iron, you can actually open up the JP21 adapter that comes stock with the framemeister and swap the wires around to euro scart pinout.

Any compatible SCART cable should do.

The framemeister is designed for Japan so when used outside one should take care. firstly it uses JP-21 Scart, not European RGB Scart. The pin arrangement is different from memory. Use the conversion cable for PAL Saturn or just get JP-21 Scart cable for Japanese Saturn.

That adapter is slight overkill, you can buy the passive adapter from the same site (£7.99) and that will work fine for the majority of what you want to use or rewire the one that comes with the Framemeister like atolm mentioned.
For Scart cables, that site you linked is pretty good but in all honesty the cables that eBay seller thefoo.83 puts out are top notch. He has a few mentions on the forums here and Buckoa51 has also reviewed them on his site.
To date I've bought ones for the Saturn, Megadrive (with 3.5 audio breakout), SNES and Neo Geo. All work perfectly with the Framemeister.

Honestly I'd always go for the active one, it saves messing with sync level and solves problems with SNES and other consoles. For the price difference it's either going to help or do nothing, so you've only lost a few quid if you never need it.

Only consoles I've had sync issues with are the PC Engine Duo and the Master System. I use a JPN SNES so not entirely sure if that makes a difference but I know the cables are wired differently.
