Hello, Hello,
Just introducing myself to the saturn forums, I'm Tsavathay. I'm Living in Canada and video games has always been apart of my life and growing up it was a special memory shared with my brothers. Systems I played most and their memorable games off the top are;
NES - Crystalis, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade edition, Super Mario World, Metalstorm, Megaman series SNES - Street Fighter 2 turbo, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, Star fox, Killer Instinct, Axelay, Sega Genesis - Phantasy Star Series, Strider, Earth Worm Jim, Aero Blasters, Golden Axe, Thunder Force, Mutant league football, Sonic N64 - Mario 64, Zelda Ocarina Of Time, Killer instinct gold, Playstation - FF7, FF8, FF10, FF Tactics, Xenogears, Saga Frontier, Breath of Fire, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter EX, Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, Raystorm
That was my video game golden years - i'm older now and never was able to afford a saturn or turbo grafx pc-engine in those times.
So I just purchased a Japanese Saturn and a PCENGINE and would like to collect a modest/small but good quality collection for both. Don't want to spend a fortune but am here to gain feedback/info on specific games, anything will help PM ME!
Japanese Saturn purchased Games: Fighting Vipers Nights Street Fighter Zero King of Fighters 96 Vampire Hunter Panzer Dragoon 1 Panzer Dragoon 2 zwei Guardian Heroes Soukyu Gurentai
I have one PVM and a Trinitron and intend to play on RGB video.
That's what i'm starting with....feedback?

it's nothing special...I think I'm delegating the Saturn to platformers, fighters and Shmups. I would love the RPGS but i wouldn't be able to follow.
Regarding SCART/RGB hook ups is their a preferred cable/seller? Also, I don't have the memory pack/action replay...if anyone has a spare please let me know.

Excellent- you've got a Trinitron CRT so you absolutely must get Virtua Cop 1 & 2. Also recommended are House of the Dead and Policenauts (if you can play the patched English version). There's other light gun games too if you're really into them.

For JPN saturn, i highly recommend japanese 2D fighting games from CAPCOM, like Street Fighter series, X-men, Marvel Super Heroes etc. If you prefer SNK style games, then go for King of Fighters or Samurai Spirits

I got my fighters covered I think -
King of fighters 96 , or 97 someone give me some feedback I went with 96 but I think I wanna go 97. I enjoy street fighter alpha series/ gameplay style.
Street fighter alpha 2 gold
Vampire hunters
And I really don't have much else desired unless someone can throw a title out.

You need to make sure the one you buy is copper shielded. I bought a cheapo scart from a Chinese seller and although there were no problems with image quality there was a loud buzzing whenever there was no sound being played by the Saturn. I got the copper shielded scart from this seller in the UK and eliminated the problem: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=152285685058#ht_1055wt_1398Welcome to the forum!

Hey Tsavathay! Nice to have another Canadian forum member on board!
Sounds like you grew up on some pretty good games (the n64 was my first and only console until Halo 2 came out).
I am not much of a fighting game player myself but Last Bronx and Xmen Children of Atom and absolutely great fighting games that won't break your bank.
I also support the suggestions of light gun games. So much fun!

Thank you for that information kolba!
I definitely am looking for scart cable right now as my Saturn and games are in transit as we speak.
I'll update how that goes.

One question I have is I'm getting Japanese Saturn should I order a action replay,. What exactly is it for.

That'd let you play NTSC-U games on your Japanese console, and it would serve for extra backup memory (not as a pure memory card) and as a RAM cart.

Thanks white falcon. I also purchased xmen vs street fighter with the ram cart- that's only exclusive with use for that game I'm guessing?

Thanks white falcon. I also purchased xmen vs street fighter with the ram cart- that's only exclusive with use for that game I'm guessing? Nope. That same ram cart will work with any other game that needs additional Ram. So once you've purchased it once no need to buy it again. But the AR4in1 really is the better option nowadayys. Welcome to the forums.
