Thanks for that info Sych and the welcome to the boards, everyone's been very helpful
Second question; what additional value will the Ar4in1 provide?

As well as the additional Ram it also functions as a Memory Cart although you can't save directly to the cart whilst in game but you can transfer after. Its also a region converter so you can play games from any region. It also comes with Cheat codes for many games and also allows you to insert your own cheats as well.

Does that mean it's impossible to save ghost data from racing games with a 4in1 as they're bigger than the total system memory capacity? What about Shining Force III, which I think needs three save files at once, each 200mb+, in order to benefit from the synchronicity system - also impossible?

Sega Rally? If the ghost data is bigger than the system memory, then you can't save it to the AR4in1 as the AR can only transfer what's on the system memory. Shinning Force 3 will only use 3 lots of 200mb save files at once if you manually choose to save your progress across 3 files. Most people just overwrite the same file everytime so it should never take up more than 200mb. If you really want to save your Ghost files on Sega Rally, then you'll have to get the Saturn Floppy Disk drive.

Oops I said mb but I meant blocks.
That floppy drive is pretty cool! I never knew something like that existed. As for saving ghost files (yeah from Sega Rally, Daytona CCE and any other racing game which may have them) I'm covered, since the official backup memory cartridge does allow saving directly to cart. The floppy drive would just be needed to transfer that data from one cart to another.

Hi everyone,
Do I need an alternate power supply or stepdown converter to use my Saturn in Canada?

Hi everyone, Do I need an alternate power supply or stepdown converter to use my Saturn in Canada? Not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. But I am pretty sure you will need a stepdown to use the Saturn here in Canada (assuming its a JPN unit). I believe we have a thread somewhere on which stepdowns are the best.

Hey! Welcome!
That´s a really nice looking collection to start with. I really want Guardian Heroes, but the price is a bit much for me at the moment so it will have to wait! Panzer Dragoon is a great game, so you should have fuin with that.

I decided to start with magic knight rayearth, it's reminding of crystalis for sure! It's the japanese version, my japnese isnt very good, so I'm playing using a game FAQs guide. does anyone else have suggestions or experience, if this is the best way to play non translated games?
