Dead or Alive should get a mention, Saturn port is imo better looking than VF2 as there is no texture warping and the 3D is pretty solid 60fps all round.
daytona USA championship circuit edition has some decent 3D too alas the gameplay is not quite the same.
ugh sorry I just read the posts properly after I posted mine. My eyesight is getting bad and I'm too lazy to reach for my glasses sometimes so I tend to miss reading the small text on forums...
I completed a play through of the Saturn game sometime last year including getting every spell and maxing them up and finding all the stuff hidden in the 3 extra dungeons so I got a little burned out so after that I didn't follow the progress much for this except just reading thoughts and experiences of people testing out your progress.
Seems now might be a good time to test out your project but I don't know the best saturn emulator for Mac OS and then I couldn't get a USB X360 controller to work in that Mac environment so I gave up.
Other problem is unless I can burn the translated game to disc and get it to run fully on an unmodded Japanese Saturn ?
If it's played on an emulator how will we know if the issues that can occur will be from the emulator settings itself and not your work? I still am reading things like players trying out something like Panzer Dragoon Saga on Retroarch and experiencing sound stuttering etc..
Again; when you die in the game, it shows a screen with the combinations.
Just did a quick capture/ upload to youtube getting game over'd as quick as possible and even let the game run into demo mode a few times and I still have yet to see this screen on Cotton2.
never mind it's all figured. If anyone still needs help I can create a move list on here with lots of gifs if your internet can handle it.. or maybe not.. and hope it will never be deleted from the web
Sorry for bringing this back to life again but did people figure out the controls? I've just dug this out in what seems like years and although I think I got most of the controls back there is one that just alludes me and I just seem to do it at random...
just a heads up but is the AR actually being registered on the Saturn ? When you switch on the Saturn it should go straight into the AR boot screen options.
If it's not doing that then you have to switch of the saturn and re position the AR cart and switch back on and see if it boots up. The saturn cartridge port is extremely fiddly and sometimes you might have to tile the cartridge backwards, forwards, lift it a little etc then switch on the machine...
I use an older elgato game capture HD. Recording at 720p allows footage to be captured at 60fps. 540p and under it records @ 30fps. the elgato game capture HD allows direct connection to TV so you can play and watch from there. the pc/laptop will lag about a second behind when recording.
Had to purchase a separate s-video connection a year ago.
Saturn s-video capture
now I use RGB / OSSC / HDMI to gamecapture. When recording with OSSC it might be best to turn off the scaliness or reduce it as much as possible as it looks uneven through game capture, especially when the YT vids get scaled down for forum embedding.
RGB / OSSC (using the newer lighter scanline mode) / HDMI and edited in DaVinci
