I like all three games a lot. Saturn HotD is a poor conversion though. I like VC1's scoring system more than VC2's, but VC2 has more interesting level design. I'd probably give it to VC2.

Okay, I managed to figure it out. If anyone else wants to do this, here's how: 1. Create an image from your game in bin/cue format. 2. Download BINCHUNKER from here. 3. Run BINCHUNKER. 4. Click "File," select "Load Cue." 5. Under "Image File Mode," determine whether the image is 2048 or 2352 bytes per sector. 6. Click "Options," mouse over "Data Tracks," then "Mode 1," and then choose the appropriate option based on Step 5. 7. Click "Action" and select "Select All Tracks." 8. Click "Action" again and select "Convert." 9. Name the files and click "OK." 10. Download SegaCueMaker.exe and use it to generate a cue file from the ISO. If you want to silence a certain piece of BGM, do the following: 1. Determine which audio track it is. 2. Open the WAV file in Audacity. 3. Press Ctrl+A to select the entire track. 4. Click "Generate" and select "Silence." Click "OK." 5. Click "File" and select "Export Audio" 6. Navigate to the folder where the ISO/CUE/WAV files are stored. 7. Name the file so it matches the one you're replacing. 8. Save it in WAV 16-bit PCM format.

The US or Japanese release of Daytona USA. According to the Saturn CD player, it should be a 22 track disc. I don't fully understand what you're trying to say, but when I look at the contents of the image in MagicISO, I can't even identify the music tracks. It's just a bunch of BIN files.

I'm shooting a video and need to be able to record footage without any BGM playing. Since there's nothing that will let me do this in the options, the simplest way to go about it would seem to be creating an ISO that uses Wav files and delete Wav files. Problem is, I can't find any guide on how to go about doing this since it's a format that's rarely used today. Anyone know how to do it?

Basic question - is it possible at all? Yabause is available for OS X.

forum.fobby.net/index.php?t=msg&goto=4409&#msg_4409Quickstart: - Requires BIOS files mpr-17933.bin and sega_101.bin to run. Place them in the firmware folder.
- Only seems to work with bin/cue disc images.
- No GUI. Drop the cue file onto mednafen.exe to launch.
It runs fairly well for the most part. You'll see/hear plenty of small issues here and there depending the game. I was most impressed when I popped Clockwork Knight 2 in and found that the sound emulation was better than in SSF! BGM and SFX both seemed to be correct. For the life of me, I can't seem to get any games to display at the correct resolution. Mednafen just spits everything out at 320x240. Supposedly, changing ss.stretch's value to "aspect" in the config file will fix this, but it didn't work for me.

Ah, so I see you did decide to come here. Cool!

Don't previous versions already offload work on the GPU if run with the GPU via Windows? It uses pixel shaders to do a few things, but this is full blown GPGPU offloading. Supposedly anyway - it does not work on my end, probably needs newer hardware than what I have. Thanks for explanation! I don't think you're missing too much at this point. From the little bit I've tested, I've found FMV strobes like crazy and mesh textures aren't displaying (though I did have transparency faking enabled, so that might be part of the problem).

It just uses gpgpu computations, not hardware upscaling. Don't previous versions already offload work on the GPU if run with the GPU via Windows?

The latest test version of SSF came out a few days ago, and I noticed "GPU Rendering" is now in the options: I assumed this meant hardware rendering à la Yabause, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Any ideas?

Hope you get your problem sorted out. If not, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I don't think there's anything on that disc that hasn't been released in other, better iterations of the Master File (LD, DVD, BD).

Don't get too hyped. SaturnAR told me back in June that they were really close. It's now December. Just be patient.

I would, that doesn't mean I'm not curious, as there's virtually NO homebrew at all running on the Saturn in the last 20 years... More like eight. The last Saturn homebrew competition was in 2007.

A Portuguese company recently tried to Kickstart a remake of a pretty cool puzzle game on the Saturn, Baku Baku. Their Kickstarter ran for 22 days and garnered only 24 backers before they pulled the plug on it. This was a release that would have been accessible to a wider audience since there were versions planned for several modern platforms. Unfortunately, there is very little awareness in the West when it comes to Saturn games. Just some food for thought... I never even heard about this kickstarter or I would have backed it. Exposure is key. Im not saying Europe is any less of a market for games than the US but when a kickstarter of even minor interest gets circulated over here, people throw money at it. Well, they're claiming they're still going to press forward with it. I think the plan is to release a demo and then try Kickstarter again, so you may just get another chance to back it.
