A Raspberry Pi is the Saturn follow up? You might want to go look how the Seedi fundraising campaign was received before you go down that path.

Nothing wrong with having a dream fellas! I get you are trying to help narrow down the idea but we can do this without roasting people Just think of this is a brainstorm session and we are all part of the team Its always good to see enthusiastic Sega and Saturn fans! All I've posted is reality. I haven't dropped any nicknames or insults. This idea doesn't have anything to do with the Saturn.

What about a console that only featured Sega or Sega 3rd party partner-made games? You're again describing what the Saturn and Dreamcast were. You're not Sega though, so how would this supposed console of yours have Sega games? are you implying that Sega is going to develop for your console?

Save up until you can. Why waste the money on something cheap? Can you suggest any, so when I can afford it, I'll get it.

Switch is a different kind of system, so I don't think it's super comparable. Sure it is. The Switch is a console developed by a major company with developer support behind (including Sega) and intellectual properties people are aware of. The Saturn and Dreamcast were consoles developed by a major company with developer support behind them (including Sega) and intellectual properties people were aware of. Your idea isn't any of that. So, your concept is not comparable.

I have no clue as to what any of this has meant. Apart from calling something that doesn't run Saturn games and is completely different to a Saturn, but it's called a Saturn or something. It doesn't mean anything. The only thing remotely Saturn related here is the topic creator's username. I already have consoles that meet the wants of a Saturn and Dreamcast fan. They're called the Saturn and Dreamcast. Quoted for truth. I just can't wrap my head around what the potential market is or what the product is supposed to achieve. Even if you moved this topic to Welcome to the Real World or All Other Systems, it wouldn't fit in those places either. The idea exists in the land of imagination and isn't a system to talk about.

The console would have to specifically meet the wants of Sega Saturn/Dreamcast fans. I already have consoles that meet the wants of a Saturn and Dreamcast fan. They're called the Saturn and Dreamcast.

I've posted about this before on this and other forums. I have a few different Saturn-related projects going on. Since it's unlikely Sega will get back in the hardware business, I am interested in producing a console that is focused on Saturn/Dreamcast fans. Also, I wanted to add that I think it would be something like 4-6 core with 8 GPUs, 4 threads, and running between 3.2-3.7 GHz. Based on hardware I've been looking at, it would probably be around 10 channel DAC with 7.1 channel playback and 16-24 bit PCM. The disc drive would probably be 8x read. If a project doesn't involve an actual Sega Saturn or Saturn software, then it isn't Saturn related. If a project doesn't involve an actual Dreamcast or Dreamcast software, then it isn't Dreamcast related. What you're describing sounds like a PC.

You've lost me. There was a follow up console to the Saturn, it was called the Dreamcast, Sega made it. What are you talking about?

Looking back at this poll now, I'm very surprised to find Virtual Hydlide in the lead. All I ever here are awful things about that game. Maybe that's more of an indicator regarding the plethora of polls, than actual real results regarding the games. Maybe folks decided to yank your chain.

Or just use one of the 3 or 4 ways of playing the English language versions of the game for free and get on with your life Ha, that's what I'm doing now. I actually owned both the US and JP copies of the game at the same time circa 1998-1999. I sold them towards Dreamcast stuff. Now I'm playing the US version again by one of those methods you mentioned. The method named after a moon of saturn that doesn't use a physical CD of any sort.

What Barry said. The Action Replay does not, and has never played copied games with the stock software that it comes with. All the Action Replay can do in stock form is make your Saturn region free, meaning it will play import official Saturn games.
You can actually do the swap trick with the Action Replay to run burned games, just like with the stock Saturn if you can figure out and time the laser movements. This still requires using an official disc for the security sectors. This isn't recommended.
Just flash the Action Replay cart with the Pseudo Saturn software, then the cart can boot burns directly. If you're doing this yourself, it will require performing the swap trick one time to boot the flashing software. If flash of the cart is successful, this was the one and only time you will have needed to do the swap trick. From then on the cart can run burned games directly.

"Or"? NO . The correct word between those two titles is "And". I have Guardian Heroes AND Saturn Bomberman retail discs. I have Guardian Heroes AND Saturn Bomberman installed on the SD card in my Saturn. There is no "Or" in this situation. Well said. Exactly, what's going to be the next thread? something like ... Sega Saturn Connection: Video OR Audio?
