Yup. Saturn's RPG library is really good. It is indeed. Although most of that was left in Japan. But I still say there a nice little set of games for the RPG fan here in North America/outside of Japan for the Saturn. Thanks a bit to Working Designs (and in fact almost brought a few more over even) I have to be a bit liberal with the RPG term and include the action/adventure games with RPG elements but the list ain't that bad that we got in English. Certainly not when compared to the PS1 but honestly compared to the N64 of that era. Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force III S1, Dragon Force, Shining the Holy Ark, Albert Odyssey, Magic Knight Rayearth, Mystaria, Iron Storm, Hercs Adventures, Legend of Oasis, Shining Wisdom, Guardian Heroes... not sure if Id include Virtual Hydlide Lol. The poor N64. Must of been hard for a Nintendo RPG fan going from the phenomenally amazing SNES/SF library of JRPGs to the N64's what' 5 or 6? I have OoT and Ogre Battle on N64, and tbh I'm not much of a fan of either. I find OoT pretty awkward to control.

Recently picked up Golden Axe: The Duel, Crusader: No Remorse, Minnesota Fats: Pool Legend, and Shining The Holy Ark Nice variety here. All 4 games are solid especially Holy Ark. Fats Pool is one of the cooler unique games that was brought over from Japan as well. Yup. Saturn's RPG library is really good.

I've only played Thunderhawk 2 on PS1, and tbh I'm not a fan.

hard to chose since world league soccer 98 is really good on saturn. I think swws 97 was big at the time, but not anywhere near as good as iss 64. swws 98 is the same game as 97. Can't say I agree ISS 64 is better. A bit better in AI maybe, but that's about it gameplay wise.

These are two of the five games I've got for my Saturn in the recent past. They're pretty different games, both in the puzzle genre, so I figured it would be cool to take a look at them together. "Gussun Oyoyo S" ('S' for Saturn) is a port of a really interesting arcade title. Your goal is to save the life of the baby in each stage, and lead him or her to the exit, by dropping what are essentially Tetris blocks, which act like stairs in the game. The kid will climb up them and away from hazards like spikes, water pits and bombs. It was a hell of a steal from eBay, about $20.00 USD if I recall and though I haven't dug too far into it yet, I'm very happy to have it in my collection and I look forward to grinding towards the later stages at some point. The second game is Puyo Puyo 2 and what's to say? It's a classic. I remember when the only thing I knew about it, was when they renamed it "Dr. Robotnic's Mean Bean Machine", for the Mega Drive/Genesis. Actually it's a pretty successful series of games from Japan, and like all of the Saturn games I chase now and again, it's an arcade staple. Gussun Oyoyo is really good. Sadly I can't find the disc of my copy...

Haven't played Decathlete but Winter Heat is rock solid. Good controls, decent variety, and nice graphics for the Saturn.

SWWS '98. Prefer '97 personally, as it easily holds up to the best early 32/64 bit footie games such as ISS Pro, ISS 64, and Actua Soccer. TBH it beats them in many ways.

Probably, but I'm still surprised Japan didn't get a version. why surprised? the psx trashed saturn there. Any the Saturn beat the N64 there. What's your point?

After seeing Deep Fear I was always curious why Capcom said the Saturn couldn't handle RE2. The Money was the reason, the same that Tomb Raider 2. I love both games, but my vote is for RE because is bigger than DF. After i finished DF there was nothing, no extras, no ranking, no nothing. Probably, but I'm still surprised Japan didn't get a version.

I don't actually have a Mission Stick for Saturn, but I couldn't help but notice that Sonic 3D Blast, among others, is listed as a compatible game for the Mission Stick. It honestly seems like quite a bizarre choice for a control method for this game, especially considering the 3D Controller that could potentially be compatible with it. I'm wondering if the Mission Stick is actually a good way to control Sonic 3D Blast, if that's a byproduct of having no other analog controller for Saturn at the time, or if a game designer at Traveler's Tales was just high and decided to slap flight stick controls in a Sonic game. I'd imagine if it works with the mission stick it works with the 3D analog pad. Don't you have a 3D pad to try with?
