Guardian Heroes huge story mode multiple ending, so much to unlock and that versus mode with six players just great stuff. Kept me coming back to play it year after year. Oh yeah, Guardian Heroes had so much to offer in this regard. Thanks for the mention.

I think the OP was going for a kinda full flight sort of thing! Though nights featured flying as a mechanic, it's all on 2D planes, so doesn't really fit the bill I reckon. Thanks for the spot on explanation Exodus. While an amazing game in its own right, it just doesn't apply to the original intent of the topic.

Thanks for the update. Yeah, that seems a bit pricey.

I'll admit this isn't my favorite genre, but I like Galaxy Force II for its superscaler technology, and also Stellar Assault SS. great music, huge pixel explosions, and makes use of that "infinite plane" concept that panzer dragoon did. Stellar Assault SS looks so cool, but I can't justify its price tag For how much does it go these days?

I really enjoy Independence Day for what it's worth. It goes some decent reviews at the time too. But I never liked the film and never got round to picking the game up. May have too now, I guess The same goes for me. However, I remember that it was because of the luke warm reviews hte game received back then (at least in my region) that I didn't get it. It is maybe time to give it finally a go.

So, did you enjoy any flying games that you enjoyed back then and eventually would recommend them to Saturn lovers these days?
I have to say that I really, really, really did enjoy Firestorm: Thunderhawk 2. I liked everything about it, the fully 3D graphics (despite the short drawing distance), the kick ass soundtrack, the voiceovers, the mission briefings, the various loadouts of your weapons, the variety of missions...It was the closest to a helicopter simulation that you would get on the Sega Saturn in the day. And then if you had a Mission Stick, then the enjoyment of the game have doubled, no kidding.
I also enjoyed Wing Arms, always thought and hoped, that it had the potential to turn into a successful series...
Honourable mention goes out to Soviet Strike.

Despite its few flaws, this is a killer of a game. My friends and I, we sank hundreds and hunderds hours into this beast. And yes, that FMV intro, I was so happy and proud back then when I saw it for the first time as it proved that Saturn was very well capable of fine FMV's without the support from the MPEG2 cartridge.

So, the question is highly subjective, but I would still love to hear from you what were the top 3 Saturn games that you squeezed the most fun/hours out from? My personal record would look something like this:
1. Sega Rally 2. Fighters MegaMix 3. Sega Workdwide Soccer 97

Torico, (also released as Lunacy and in Japan as Gekka Mugentan).Even though it's a fmv adventure, it shares D's eerie so it might be worth checking out.

What a pleasant surprise!!! Hope the games will perform well financially, so that the hope of a proper PDS remake can live on!

Guardian Heroes, Nights, Exhumed, Princess Crown...there are so many titles that actually deserved to be continued. Sigh. Nights did get a sequel and Princess Crown got Odin Sphere (a sequel in everything but name). Yeah, but the topic question is which sequels we would love to see "on the system".
