Hi there! I've been trying to find a list of saturn games that were re-released in the plastic case variant. I mean, uou can check if a game has a plastic case variant in satakore for instance, but there isn't an explicit list (that i know of course). So far i got to find some, but i would apreciate any help on this subject Panzer dragoon zwei Sega rally Virtua fighter 2 Baku baku Nights Sonic 3d Bomberman Die hard arcade Virtual-on Exhumed Dragonball z legends Street fighter alpha 2 Tomb raider Athlete kings World wide soccer Am i missing anything? Thanks : )

Okay so you're missing:
Actua Golf Bug Too! Clockwork Knight 2 Manx TT Superbike Worms Loaded Sega Ages Vol 1. Daytona USA CCE Fighting Vipers Command & Conquer
I've seen it mentioned on here that Virtua Fighter 1 even had a plastic case but I've never seen one but a member on here was adamant they had one.

The re-released PAL cases are great. The anal collector in me would love to upgrade those PAL titles I have that I don't have the later cases for.
I have already upgraded my copies of Baku Baku and Sega Rally. Would like to upgrade Athlete Kings and Bomberman, but it could be expensive, especially in the case of Bomberman.
I'm pretty sure Marvel Super Heroes got a release in the plastic case. Memory can play tricks but I think my copy was like that.

MSH was released in late 97/early 98 so it would have come in a plastic case by default. I don't think there were any cardboard cover versions.

So just to add to both your list and marked with a star the ones I've have, been on the same quest myself to get them all. As it's interesting to see how many games got later re-releases. Most are included on www.satakore.comI refer to them as "soft case" (cardboard sleeve inlay design glued to two separate outer plastic moulds) and hard cases (all plastic case with a see through sleeve on the front that fits a paper inlay, like modern DVD cases). Actua Golf Athlete Kings * Baku Baku Bug Too! Clockwork Knight 2 Command & Conquer * Daytona USA CCE * Die Hard Arcade Dragonball Z Legends * Exhumed Fighting Vipers Loaded Manx TT Superbike * Nights in to Dreams* Panzer Dragoon Zwei Saturn Bomberman Sega Ages Vol 1 * Sega Rally * Sonic 3D Street Fighter Alpha 2 Tomb Raider * Virtua Cop 2 * Virtua Fighter 2 * Virtual-On Cyber Trooper World Wide Soccer 97 * Worms (I've added Virtua Cop 2) The box change game in around the time Saturn Bomberman was releasing and by June 1997 no more games came in cardboard boxes Shining The Holy Ark was the first all plastic case if it wasn't MegaMix. I think their might also be a soft cardboard case for Fighters MegaMix and a hard plastic case for Whizz. (But don't quote me on them, not 100% sure) neither are on the Satakore website.

From memory the first game to come in Sega's plastic (PAL) case was Sega Ages Vol 1. I used to hunt for new games every weekend back in the day..., Mick our leader also agreed this was so when we last talked about what was the first game to come in one.

But Sega Ages was first released in a Cardboard case so it couldn't have been the first plastic case game because the re-release's of Cardboard cases came after Plastic Cases were already on the shelf.

Another guide here, but I've spotted a few mistakes on it already: www.sega-saturn.net/palbuyersguide/overview.htmDepends when Sega phased out the cardboard packing they may have only printed the first batch of copies of Sega Ages with the cardboard box, so the hard plastic cases may have been on sale the second week. Used to visit my local Game most Sundays back then, but the first hard case game I got was Shining the Holy Ark, in July 97. Megamix and Sega Ages Vol 1 did release earlier however. Certainly it's around May & June 97 when the change came in.

Also listed up there is Actua Soccer but to my knowledge Actua Soccer only ever came in a plastic case and never a cardboard case.

Ahh so it was Virtua Fighter Remix and Wing Arms that also have a plastic case version. Those were the two I was missing off my list above.

It was not a re-release that came later. Sega Ages Vol 1 for the most part came in a plastic case and was already in one on release day. To some old gits like me it was a Daytona USA/Sega Rally moment to those who had been waiting for OutRun to come home as it was meant to be seen..., having had to make do with the C64/Spectrum/Amiga/Atari ST/Master System & MegaDrive versions. Two different disc producers & printers may of been used hence the plastic and card but yeah, this was the first time the plastic case was seen by me and I can only add that depending on the shop or supplier it was bought from would depend on which one you may of got on release day.
