Hey there I assume given this is the newbie board that multiple threads for saying hello can be started in here. I should have really joined up years ago. I was a massive and avid fan of the Saturn way back at its release and it has always had a space in my heart, even if its not always sat under the TV. I sold multiple Saturns back in the day, not in terms of exchange in money but by virtue of talking the system up and demoing games. No doubt at least one of those was regretted when the games dried up and Playstation was going strong, but I had lost contact at that point. Some of the prices of games are killing me these days. I'm rather glad I got Street Fighter Zero 3 when I did, unfortunately I cannot say the same about Panzer Dragoon Saga Anyway I'm here now, and along for the ride :¬)

Welcome.
I feel your pain.
I got into Saturn when it was on its way out so I was able to pick up a lot of games cheap as people traded them in. I also then got into importing when games were still sensibly priced (late 90s-early 00s). I very much doubt I could justify the cost of what I own now at today's prices.
It's not all bad though - there are still plenty of bargains to be had. There are plenty of top notch games that are cheap or at worst reasonably priced compared to today's new releases.

I vividly remember going into Game Northampton and them having a good chunk of Panzer Dragoon Saga back around its release and I passed on it. Thinking I'll grab it when the price drops.
I guess you win some, you lose some.
That was back when Game was a really decent store.
It wasn't until the early 2000s that I started picking up Japanese games, like you said, prices were pretty reasonable back then. Wishing I picked up two SFZ3, an extra one to keep sealed, never would have guessed (at the time) that was going to shoot up in value.
Every once in a while I jump on ebay to see if there is something to take my fancy but its been a good bit now since I have actually bought anything. Of course it's hard to buy something for £20 when you passed on it for £5 even if that was years back.

Last new Saturn games I bought off the shelf was in the Belfast branch of GAME - Marvel Super Heroes and Tempest 2000. Still have 'em
Picked up a PILE of cheap PAL games in Cash Converters and small indie shops. I remember passing over Saturn Bomberman quite a few times because I already owned it. If only I'd have thought ahead.
It's slim pickings now though.
It's worth checking out genkivideogames and videogameimports.com - sometimes they have pretty good deals on. The service is always great with them. Import only though.
