Okay this was requested awhile ago but I forgot to post it. Previously both featuring in different polls and both winning, I decided to put them in a face off. So which will it be: Last Bronx or Fighting Vipers? Pick one and explain your reasons why. FIGHTING VIPERSLAST BRONX

Last Bronx for life! The chick with the dual nightsticks is the best. Haven't played in a while so I forget her name Both are really solid though. However, I found Bahn (I think thats how you spell it) to be a tier above the rest of the characters in fighting vipers which takes some fun out of it. Last Bronx on the other hand I found the character balance to be a bit better.

I agree, I'm gonna have to go with Last Bronx on this. I enjoy Fighting Vipers but feel Last Bronx is the better game.

I've played a lot more Fighitng Vipers than Last Bronx, but Last Bronx always felt like it wasn't fully completed as a game.

I love both but my choice is Fighting Vipers because it's much more accessible, has an awesome soundtrack, and the range of quirky characters really appeals to me.
Last Bronx's weapons mechanic feels a little slow and clunky in comparison. But patient and strategic gamers are rewarded for persisting. Plus it has a great range of extras, like the awesome anime endings for each character.
Both games taught me the advantages of blocking in fighting games, especially Last Bronx.

I don't own Fighting Vipers, though I do have Fighters Megamix, fun game.
Last Bronx is really fun too , and I generally prefer the high res look it has over the lower res "smooth" Fighters Megamix has.
Its certainly a worthy competitor to Soul Edge

They both suck gameplay wise IMO. But they are graphically impressive and do a few things that I wish more Saturn fighters did (lightning, perspective corrected backdrops to better mimic 3d sceneries).

What don't you like about the gameplay zyrobs? Genuinely curious as I thought both were pretty decent (but I'm not a hardcore fighting game guy so fairly easy to please)

IMO Vipers is more about mashing and using the power counter to, er, counter the mashing, not about the fast technical back-and-forth of Virtua Fighter.
Last Bronx may have been OK 4 years earlier, but by the time it came out it was up against Soul Blade which was 10x more impressive, not just "VF with weapons".

Agreed on the fighting vipers I did find it to be a pretty mash happy game. Which is one reason why I enjoy it, because I have a chance against my pals who play fighting games on the daily. But for them its not as fun because its not as technical. Good introductory game to the fighting genre I think.
I get what you mean about Last Bronx as well compared to other fighters of its era. IMO Last Bronx is still fairly solid, but your right in saying some of the other games at the time were far superior.

VF2 always gets the attention but I might actually prefer these 2 of Sega polygon fighters. VF2 came free with our Saturn back in 96 (with the awesome 3 free game bundle). But my brother bought Fighting Vipers around the same day and I really like the extra "attitude" it had at the time. Its also the only 100% original Saturn title I still have in my collection from back then. Everything else was lost more or less. I have my original cases for Duke 3d, Area 51 and Quake but never found the original discs Last Bronx though might be my favorite fighter on the Saturn. I love the way it looks and plays. Alot of the late Saturn titles were rushed by 3rd parties (House of the Dead, Touring Car...) but LB plays pretty damn good. Sure it it breaks a bit with some glitching but Id take that considering mostly everything else is in tact.

I do not own fighting vipers yet. I only have Last Bronx in my collection and i really like it. Jugding from the screen shots I also think that Last Bronx looks better than fighing vipers. I would consider Last Bronx as one of my favorite fighting games with Dead or Alive.

Fighting Vipers has much more of that arcadey "sega" feel - it gets my vote! I could imagine Last Bronx being real good if you played a lot with other people, but that's a rarity these days.

We used to play these two for hours. Last Bronx had more initial, immediate excitement due to the sheer brutality, but Vipers had more depth. I remember (Vipers) when whilst fighting in the cage level, my friend (unintentionally) performed a massive combo (that was intentional), then upper-cut me so I landed impaled on the fence. Before the animation ended (I was dead), he jumped up and kicked me, sending me miles as the fence exploded. We laughed for hours! Only ever saw that once, and we played for serious amounts of time.
