Hi.
Just brought my first saturn. On arrival I have noticed that av cable was already plugged in. It worked perfect for 30 min, but after reset i have noticed heavy flickering/lines. I tried to reconnect av cable and ive lost a picture and sound completely, I can go back to flickering picture by pushing and tilting cable. Cable seems to be fine it's more like movment of av port help.
I have also tried to clean prts with alcohol but no change.
Edit: it is V1 Pal

Have you got a different cable to test things? remember its an analog signal so a low quality cable can cause issues like that.

Thing is I've got saturn for a £10, I'll can return it only today, or keep it and risk it. I have already ordered a rgb scart, but It won't arrive for a next couple days. I've pushed a cable really hard in and it works now but as soon as I even move console an inch, it stops.

if the picture goes bad when you move the cable, thats usually a sign of a faulty cable.
Ive had similar issues with a Mega Drive cable, where if you moved it, the screen would become blue/purple.

Yea, without any way to test with another cable you cant be sure but as darkman said I'd lean towards a bad cable, I've yet to have an AV port go bad on a Saturn.

Today white flickering lines appeared, after doing some research it looks like it's faulty psu. I decided to return item. Thanks for all your help.

It worked perfect for 30 min, but after reset i have noticed heavy flickering/lines. … it is V1 Pal Yeah, that's the well known PSU problem. It's actually pretty simple to fix if you know how to solder, you just need to install an extra capacitor. It is better to replace the PWM switch IC though. I usually do both when fixing units.

Unfortunately I know nothing about soldering nor have any equipment to do it. This was my first saturn, and I had it only for couple days . Would love someone from Uk that can sell and ship to me a unit that was 100% working. Now I'm paranoid to buy any of them from ebay.

There should be someone. I can think of a few people but I'd hate to volunteer them if they didn't.

Unfortunately with any old electronics you're dealing with a certain amount of risk, hope you can pick up something decent soon

I would've bought that unit for that low of a price. Oh well.
