I am considering getting this game for my growing collection. Is the Saturn Version decent enough or you would give recommend purchasing the PS1 version instead?
And has anybody experience in using the second segment on a modern day Television? Is the light gun segment of the second game playable with the controller, or is not working at call compared using to the light gun?

It looks decent for a Saturn game, but of course the PSX version looks much better.
For the lightgun game, you need a CRT if you want to use lightguns. I think you can use a normal controller to control an aiming cursor, but that's pretty slow.

I found the second segment overly hard even with a light gun. That said, I'd still favor it over the standard controller; my memory of it is pretty fuzzy since I only tried it that way briefly, but as I recall it doesn't have the variable cursor speed used in the Virtua Cop games or anything like that. Die Hard Trilogy isn't nearly as breakneck fast as Area 51 or Maximum Force, but it is a difficult game to get a handle on when you're dealing with a jerky cursor.

You're better off with the PS1 version: it looks and runs better.
The Saturn version of the lightgun section is full of slowdown and looks a right mess. Nonetheless, if you can get over this, it's a solid game in its own right, introducing some cool concepts other lightgun games need.

Got my copy of Die Hard Arcade in the mean time and it is a great game. I really like it so far. It is great fun.
The only drawback is that the game seems to be unforunately one of the games that uses different resolutions, so my Framemeister Needs some seconds to adjust. That can be a pain in the behind, it is unplayable by all means, but it can be annoying to lose some seconds.
