Daytona USA on XBox Live Arcade is just about Arcade perfect. The first Daytona USA port on Saturn retains the same look and feel but the graphics have not aged well. The pop in is shameful. It is obsolete.
CCE is better visually and is enjoyable but the gameplay was updated for the time so it no longer plays like the classic Daytona..
I would suggest the XBox Live Arcade version of Daytona USA if you want a authentic, true to the source experience, and Daytona USA: Championship Circuit Edition on Saturn for a new and different take on the game.

Thanks a lot for the further tipps. I reall apriciate that.
@segaaa I have not tried the xbox Version of Daytona, but Maybe I will. I just tested the Ps3 Version on psw now and I reallys like it. Plays well, when my Internet is in a good mood. Internet in Austria is not Ready yet for game Streaming.
So I am really interested in getting a downlodable Version of the game. And the Xbox Version seeems to be a very good Chance to do.
@all Is he Saturn port road rage recommendable or would be the PSX Version a better pick?

Daytona on 360 is stunning but I gave up on Saturn Daytona before that - once I got the Dreamcast version.
It's 2nd fiddle to the majesty of the 360 port but it's still a lovely looking game with original , CCE and 2 exclusive tracks (albeit one being just an oval).

Going against the trend here, if you can get Daytona on the PS3 the don't bother with the Saturn version at all. As others have mentioned the pop up and terrible draw distance are shambolic. Save your money and get something else. This notion of the Saturn version still worth owning when there is a better alternative out there makes no sense at all. Having purchased the PS3 version, I never went back to the Saturn version at all.

I think sega rally is an incredible game. I love the music and the whole vibe. Daytona has hilarious music but compared to the drifting heaven of sega rally it's kinda shitty. I have a japenese copy that was less that 10quid. I'm not a racing game fan at all. Just love the cheese 90s of sega rally.

Never returned to the Saturn version since the PS3 got an arcade perfect HD remaster (which can also be played on PS Now).
Saturn port is still worth having for any Saturn collector though, it's an essential part of the console's history, for better or worse.

Been a while since I have been online thanks to some real world issues, so sorry for the late Reply.
The Video is very interesting indeed.
ps I have abondomed the idea of getting the Saturn Version of Daytona fast after purchasing the PS3 version. This version is really great. I have not given up the idea getting the Saturn Version of Daytona for collecting purposes but for playing I will stick the to arcarde perfect port.

For the last month I have been playing jp Daytona USA, and I really like it! The sudden re-interest was due to visiting a friend who owns FOUR Daytona cabinets (!!) so spending the day playing Daytona left me wanting more. Back in the late 90's I only owned CCE which I liked back then (as it looked smooth), and when I eventually got my hands on USA I struggled with its appearance.
However nowadays, I can only play USA, as the feel is so authentic! Yes there are the 360 and PS ports, but they just ain't the Saturn. Revealing my allegiance here...
Definitely don't give up on the Saturn version (60Hz only). You'll be glad to have it in your collection. Playing Daytona on your Saturn is just cool.

Would love to have the space and resources to get 4 of those haha.

He's looking to move pair on (they are 2 sets of twins) as they have moved to a smaller place with his wife and newborn, so he's got a mini arcade in the front room. He's asking a pretty reasonable price too, if only I could justify the cash and had the room!

When it comes to playing Daytona in its orignal incarnation the PS3 and XBox 360 HD remastered ports render the Saturn version of Daytona USA obsolete, but Daytona USA: Championship Circuit Edition on the Saturn is still worth playing because its so radically different, it's aged much better than the first Daytona game on the system from a graphical and gameplay standpoint.
