Hi there,
I got a Mega Drive Mini a few months back.
My first console was the N64, even though I was born in 1985! I had to make do with a PC and various games.
First consoles I remember were ;
My Uncle's Sega Master System.. that just had Sonic 1
My old school friend Henry's Sega Mega Drive... Just remember playing Streets of Rage.
I WANTED A MD so bad as a kid!
Once my brother and I got that N64 and Goldeneye, things were never the same again, haha!
This MD mini has been like going back in time, and getting the chance to play a whole generation of stuff that I missed.
With all this spare time of late , I have been playing all sorts of games and made a lot of purchases.
My Saturn, complete with Action Replay and about 11 choice games will be with me in a few days.
Anyway,
Hi guys, I look forward to learning all about this awesome console.
Yours Happily
Tom

Hey Tom!
Welcome to the community!
How is the Mega drive mini? I have seen the Genesis Mini here, but never thought about grabbing one (did grab the SNES mini though).
What games did you get with your Saturn?

Hi! Nice to get a reply!
Really, I think it would be better to say hello in a section that's not labelled 'newbies' as I doubt seasoned members take a look in here. Haha,
The MD mini, for the money... Is incredible. It's also very easy to add more games with a program, Project Lunar. I feel everyone should own one.
I went a bit crazy and have several games Ordered for the Saturn. These arrived today and there's 7 more on the way...
Sega Rally pal Mass Destruction pal Daytona jp Vampire Hunter jp GunGriffon 2 jp Panzer Dragoon Zwei jp Nights into Dreams jp Fire Pro Wrestling Six Man Scramble jp

Typically a few of the longer standing members check the newbie threads to make sure new members are welcomed! But, always feel free to say hi in another thread as well!
Its amazing how people figure out how to add games to these mini systems.
Haha I went crazy when I got a Saturn as well. Purchased a lot of 30 games back then.
Those 7 games are a very good start to a collection though! Keep hitting on purchases like that and you will be a happy Saturn owner!
The SNES mini is quite good! I haven't used mine a whole lot, but the game selection is solid and they all seem to run well imo.

The Mega Drive mini is great, good build quality (specially the controllers)and lots of great games, it's a great purchase.
Welcome Jiggle! If you've never played the Saturn before, I'm sure you'll be in for a treat, I love how lots of Saturn games aged beautifully, specially how they play, so I hope you'll enjoy yourself with your purchase, and don't forget to let us know what are your first impressions of the console.

On the MD Mini, for 70 euro or so you can't go wrong but you'd have thought considering who was behind it (M2) it would have had less emulation problems (e.g audio lag). Usually M2 do an absolutely stellar job.
Oh and welcome Jiggle/Tom!

Hi all, first time seeing my messages in a while! Loving my Saturn(s) Yeah, so I bought a jp one too. Along with more games, I now have 2 retrobit wireless pads, a jp 3dpad plus my latest controller. The Retro fighters, Brawler Gen. I really like this controller, and the analogue stick on it works fantastically well. Wasn't comfortable with the standard mii Saturn pad. Even though so many love it. I have a 6button md pad which I love though... I recommend the brawler gen. My main problem now, is I need an old crt. Tbf things don't look bad on my HD TV. I have a very good rgb cable. Anyway, here's my games.. Thus far.

Thanks. I went a bit nuts... Haha Lots to play. Working slowly on deep fear. I love the fact that some games are the sort you can pick up and have a go at improving etc. Arcade stuff like Sega Rally, V on and Panzer Dragoon. Those are what I've been playing with mostly. Trying to progress... I have a retro gaming cables rgb cable going Into an HD tele. I know I need a crt... I think, that the quality is actually very good on my current set up. Would be interested to know others experience? I plan on getting hold of an old tele ASAP... Mainly as I have a an n64 that looks terrible on an HD TV. A comparison of rgb in an HD tele versus a crt will be interesting. Obviously less input lag... Haven't had problems so far. As both Sony HD teles have various outs.. Including scart and component. They seem to allow 4:3 aspect ratio too.

Welcome aboard the great ship Saturn Tom.
If you have any afinity with 2d Shmups and fighters this is the place to be,the 2d games have aged beautifully but can be a bloody expensive love affair.Still my personal collecting habits are just that mine, this is YOUR adventure dive in my friend there is so many games everybody will find something to obsess on 🕹😀.

Any advice or guides online would be great for VF2 and megamix. And fighters mega mix. I struggle on both to do well against the computer past easy difficulty. Especially th characters with armour on megamix. Had a look but a lot of stuff wasn't great or not for vf2
