Hi all! I am a newbie to this community. I am obsessed with the Sega Saturn and retro gaming in general.
Currently I have just got to disc 2 of Deep Fear (jp copy)
The game is actually really cool and the terrible voice acting just makes me laugh.
Also enjoying Nights, Panzer Dragoon, Virtual On and Sega Rally.
I just play these for a bit every now and then, trying to improve my skills.
I have a Hori SS fight stick, plus VF2 and Fighters mega mix, I really love both games but could really use some advice on how to improve.
Obviously I can't have a friend over and the cpu kicks my arse if I set the difficulty on anything but easy!
Any knowledge would be great on those games. I have been playing as Jack and thought I'd try and stick with one character...
Perhaps I should try out some others??
What games are you playing?
Hope you are all keeping safe and well!
Tom

Nice collection you've got going there. How do you like Dark Savior? That's one of my all time favorites.

Heya. I haven't actually played it yet. Other than the very first bit, (to check it works) I'm aware it's supposed to be a unique and challenging game.
It cost me £50 which is the most I've spent on a single game so far.
Saving it for a while.
Just received Resident Evil and I'm going to stop playing Deep Fear for a while and play RE.
Sort of a survival horror comparison. With stuff I really enjoy, I like to put the brakes on so I don't rush a game.

Been playing through all the shining force 3 scenarios again.
Can't believe how addicting and full of replay value those games are.

I planned to try and get into an rpg.
Dragonforce is addictive but I'd say overated and way too expensive.
I have the Shining Holy Ark.. Haven't played it yet
Know nothing about Shining Force 3 or how the scenarios work??

There's some sort of magic in Dragon Force. I can't explain it. I suppose it's that mid 90's fantasy RPG feel. Definitely very charming and unique. But you're right, after you figure it out, it's basically just rock, paper, scissors.
You know, IIRC, I came up with this cheese strategy against archers and ranged attackers. I'd spread my men out the the sides, make them rush forward, then back to the sides, over and over, so as to decrease the surface area of my army. This allowed them to reach the archers without taking too many casualties.

I have just sunk 3 hours into Dforce again. I like it. Just stuck at the mo. Zoltan... I think hes called... has some sword etc. I dislike how him and his guys will keep coming back I'll easy beat them then they bugger off. But they keep coming back. It's annoying. A bit like a fly in the room. I literally fought them 4 times in one sequence. Then there was a little story bit about his sword when I did the domestic stuff. I hope this means I'll be able to beat him as I have 5 Castles as Wein and it's either the feind tower or fighting that Zoltan dick over and over !
