Hi,
I have a model 2 sega saturn that i have no issues with. It has a mod chip installed.
However today i started having issues on bootup. It seems to freeze sometimes when i start up a game. On the bottoup screen. It freezes when the little particles are assembling or the screen goes black when it is happening.
If i turn the console on and off usually i can get it working. When i do the games run absolutly fine.
Can anyone help me with this? I am hoping the saturn can be repaired.
Thanks

did you check the solder joints on the wire supplying 5V to the mod chip? Maybe they need to be re-flowed. I'm not an expert on the Saturn mod chips but it sounds like it's only working intermittently so I'm thinking it's likely to be a loose/unstable connection somewhere. You can also try re-seating the ribbon cables to be thorough.
