Greetings all!
Long time Saturn user, since buying one (eventually a few) off the shelf back in the late 90s. I was a user on this forum, but I think I was probably inactive on the forum so long that my username no longer is valid. Talking nearly 15 years ago! So I may as well greet everyone as a noob again...
I spent my very first paycheck on a Saturn, plus Sega Rally, Virtua Cop 2, Virtua Gun, and AV cable - boy was that a good day!! I still have the receipts somewhere... Will see if I can dig them out, I'm sure they'll be appreciated on this forum....
Have always had a Saturn plugged in since 1997, first my original PAL unit, which I region modded after continual appeals from the crew at Sega Saturn Magazine UK. You can only resist the lure of import games for so long... They made it seem so attractive. Nowadays my workhorse is a white Japanese model.
What is it about this old machine, it's a classic isn't it....
Good to be here again, God bless! Joe.

I found my little archive of saturn materials, some real gold in there which I'll share later. In the meantime, found the receipt!! I would have put it on lay-by as soon as my job was confirmed and finished off the purchase as soon as the first paycheck came in, check it out:

I saw the brochure you put up. They looked pretty cool! Also thats crazy you still have the receipt (and were able to find it, I wouldn't be organized enough ) This is the receipt for the machine you saved in surgery the other day?

Oh yeah, I keep some interesting bits and bobs This receipt is 'sort of' for that machine, but not. The receipt was for a model 1 Saturn, as I recall, I actually went back and exchanged it for a model 2, pretty quickly. I'm pretty sure that surgery machine was it. On an interesting (unrelated) side note, this reminds me that I got another brand new Saturn probably a year later for a ridiculous price, I remember Saturn stuff was 1/2 price at Kmart, and the marked price on the last Saturn on the shelf was $64. So it was $32!! (I remember also finding a Virtua Gun on the shelf too and grabbing it for next to nothing) I remember I botched a region mod for a friend's Saturn years ago, and I'm pretty sure I gave him one of my spares in it's place, so maybe I gave that cheap one to him.

You must be very organized. Myself, my stuff is a big mess xD That being said I did find a receipt for a game I bought in 2006 on the weekend (Colin Mcrae Rally 04 on Xbox)
And man a Saturn for 32$ thats a deal! Really wish I had been into the Saturn back then, woulda saved me some money!

I was only ever this organised for the Saturn, probably because it my first big investment (in my late teens), very precious at the time!! But in the couple of years following, there were definitely some great bargains to be had. I remember picking up a multitap for $5 out of the bargain bucket at Toys'r'us! Boxed!! Man I should have bought everything in that bucket at the time, hindsight being 20/20 and all Great memories, those days were fun!

Heya maingoee, yeah we're in lockdown over here in Melbourne. However I was on a bicylce ride with my kids this evening and spotted some nice stools that were left out for rubbish collection. Perfect seating candidates for my up and coming Saturn arcade project. They are now in my garage :-D
