Yea Ive seen it, its the cable that everyone and their mother recommends, bit pricey especially when you factor in post Brexit shipping fee's from the UK for almost everything over £22. Who knows, maybe Ill make a drunken impulse after a few beers .
About the step down transformer, a lot of people who went with the smaller cheaper 45-50 watt ones say they make a constant humming noise and they cant use them for prolonged periods (over an hour) without their Saturn restarting or the step down transformer getting worryingly hot, have any of you guys experienced this ?. I know the Bronson one I linked above is overkill at 200W but apparently its silent and only £10 more then the 50W one.

If you're worried about overspending a few Euro on a SCART cable you're going to love the rest of the prices on retro stuff these days Hey at least An Post aren't returning most packages now because Royal Fail can't get their electronic customs right.

It really is worth it. Those old images with the right cable sing on the old CRT. I can't vouch for the OSSC or equivalent but I can only presume that the better the connection to it the better the result.
It might be worth looking East to see if you can get something from Japan since there is a trade deal in place with the EU? There are JP based sellers on Facebook who might be worth checking out.

Don't confuse trade deals with the single market, a trade deal will still mean customs fees/handling fees etc at the EUs borders.

Generally yeah that's what they do, or allow for mutual recognition of standards to cut down on safety or sanitary checks etc at the borders. I don't think there would be duties on something that value though, I don't think they kick in until it's higher.

Screw it, after a few beers I just bit the bullet and ordered one from Retrogamingcables.

Was hoping the cable would arrive today but it didn't, despite the tracking saying it was in Dublin on Friday. Hopefully tomorrow, it sucks having to play Radiant Silvergun on my PAL Saturn in 50hz but as sad as it sounds, it does make the game slightly easier
