Because I (currently) own the original, I've been discussing my situation with mr. C.Deeclone 5.1.3.
He's provided a short-term solution til I get it back again.

I need help. I can't find the hidden arena in story mode. I remember I happened to find it the very first time playing GH but now, when I know where to look (which stages in particular) I just can't find that wooden signpost...

is the game any good then? I've read some small reviews which say it's awesome but is it really or is just just saturn fan hype?
also is it actually a side scrolling platformer with rpg elements like leveling up etc? im thinking of getting it one day but £45 seems hella lota money for it.

Well, at first I was dissapointed with GH, after watching its gameplay videos I expected something more fun, then I started to like it but after some time I was even thinking about selling it and buying other pricey Saturn game like Enemy Zero or Dragon Force but it wasn't till much later when I finally realised it's ace. It's a type of game IMO that grows on you but to be honest I wouldn't pay 45 quids for it, besides you can get it twice as cheap (I got mine for 15 but it was in bad condition, I resurfaced the disc and now it's like mint). It's not a side-scolling platformer but side-scrolling beat'em up. Rpg elements, multiple routes and endings plus varied characters and a versus mode, all of this contributes to ridiculous amount of depth for a beat'em up. I would sell it to you for 20 quids or so if I wanted to but I don't Be persistent and maybe you'll find a cheap copy on eBay someday
