Oh goodness... I should get to work on that!! Anyways, I came up with this new and unique game concept that totally has not been done before and would love to see on the Saturn. Basically it's this first person shooter, and I got mock screenshots to explain it all! First of all, we gotta have a super realistic inaccuracy system where your shots are completely thrown off center if you so much as to take a step forward: Maybe make it immersive too... when you look down you can actually see your own feet! Like holy crap!! Lastly, let's make the flashlight the most powerful weapon in the game. Gotta have the blood. Wouldn't be cool without an excess amount. What else will save the flavourless game? Just add a cool story about Chinese communists trying to I dunno... bomb a bridge or something and you're all set! An instant hit on the Saturn!

Well those gameplay shots are better than anything produced by Unreal Engine 3 as they do have colours that aren't brown or grey.

Alright! We need a programmer.
I can do graphics (bad guys, guns, etc...), Mick can do 3D level design.
Snowcat can do the script.
We don't need a soundtrack since that's also totally cool and original. We'll just get Nick to fart in the mic, edit it a bit and set it as a windy atmosphere.
LET'S GET ON IT!!

If this is a cart game, will it have ram on it as well? It's easier to do games with more ram, which is why things like the AR have ram on them. For example, if you assume that 4MB of ram is available, you could use Quake 1 as the base for this game... or Doom. Then you have the ability to use the level editors available for those games. You could also run the game on other platforms... both Quake and Doom are on virtually everything.

Screw 4MB of RAM. We'd overdose and go 16MB. It's our cartridge, we set the RAM. YEA!! Let's make it the most graphically intense game on the Saturn! ...you know... as graphically intense my art can get... Nah I'd rather code my own engine. Be good practice and we can't sell anything done with someone else's engine.

Be good practice and we can't sell anything done with someone else's engine. You can sell games based on the id code. It's a common misconception that you can't. You can't sell id's DATA files, but if you make your own complete wad file (let's say for Doom), then you can sell that no problem. If you make changes to the code, you have to post that code as well. So let's say you made your own Doom 2 compatible wad file that had no id resources in it - it's all your work. Let's say you port one of the Doom source ports to the Saturn. Then you can sell the game consisting of the compiled game, your wad file, and the source code to the port you made of the game engine. I'd just put them all on the same CD (assuming you made this a bootable CD version of the game. If it was a cart-based game, you'd have to have the source code on a site somewhere with instructions on how to get it included with the game.

By the way, the FPS was a joke and a mockery of modern gaming showing just how easy it is to make a modern FPS. I'd never lower myself to that level. I have many other well thought out projects I want to do instead.

We should port Starfox64 to the Saturn and put an Ethernet port on the cartridge so it can have online play.

...or finish the original Star Fox 2 that was cancelled. I'd like to see that more.

But Starfox 64 would make N64 fanboys do a double take...

I suppose, but only if coded right. I know there were lots of choppy areas in the 64 Star Fox that the Saturn would have to overcome even with it's limited power when talking 3D. I'd also imagine the draw distance being pretty bad. Though if pulled off correctly, it would be pretty dang cool! (My main concern is the MASS number of polygons on screen at once, with even the ground shaping differently in some areas and morphing in real time, or with slopes and hills. Remember that the Saturn doesn't use Polygons and it'd be a chore to get everything going perfect. Look what happened to Virtual Hydlide when they tried to do polygonal floors. :/ Then again Sega Rally seemed to pull it off quite well... I guess you'd just need one hell of a good programmer) The bigger challenge would be gaining the original soundtrack in uncompressed form to take advantage of CD quality sound. Also, you'd SO have to make it compatible with the analogue pad.

Also, you'd SO have to make it compatible with the analogue pad. Saturn does do polygons, it just does them in squares instead of triangles like the PS1 and N64. But it could be doable if we had a good team of programmers to work on it. It would probably be easier to start with just a rail shooter engine that has the same features as Starfox 64, then add the Starfox content. But yeah, it would also have to run in 480p to make up for the lack of Trilinear Filtering.
