Well
I have a few things to say about that:
Ok so I used the wrong word, are we being pedantic now?
Apple have done a good job with the software, but it is by no means perfect.
I simply cannot agree with what you are saying here:
Stylus-based screens offer a much finer point of contact and greater accuracy as a result, perfect for playing games. A pin point is better than the end of your finger.
I am also not a fan of fingerprints, and while I know that the iPhone and Touch have a pretty good anti-fingerprint coating on them, once again it is not perfect and they are indeed visible to a degree.
Still I agree that stylus based
touch screens do leave a lot of room to be improved upon.
What I would like to see is a tablet style input (like I said) where the pen itself is the mechanism. These screens literally offer a fool-proof accidental press system and in my view are the easiest to use, especially for drawing applications and such.
Some people might lose the pen, and this could be an issue, but that's a small price to pay for the advantages of such a system.
I enjoy arcade games too, although I only mentioned one or two RPG in my answer, there are many, many arcade games on PSP too.
In-fact almost every game I mentioned was an arcade game...
That old throw-back to the Amiga days, Super Stardust Portable, being a very arcade game.
Well I can't comment on US prices since I don't live in the US.
Well I think you are kind of missing the point of the portability here.
Try taking your X-Arcade on a bus or train...
Is having a 100% legal, slightly compromised version of King of Fighters 98 in your pocket really that bad?
I use MAME too, as well as original arcade boards, but when going on holiday I take one of my handhelds as the Arcade stick and Jamma boards are just too heavy
The GP2X is probably a better choice for portable emulation in terms of ergonomically designed controls, but on the PSP you are getting a far bigger screen and access to a lot of PSP exclusives (to give or take as you please, I might add)
Well Uniqueness is fine but in the end I consider the amount of enjoyment I experience from the games themselves more important than the hardware. Mario Galaxy and House of the Dead Overkill are easily some of the most fun I have had on a console recently.
I could easily assume what you just did and say you feel the need to do so for the PSP?
Like I said, do not spout your
conjecture as established fact.
At no point did I say that I did not own an iPhone or an iPod touch.
You are
choosing to be a fanboy, don't make it my fault that you get butt-hurt when someone disagrees with you.
And no you are right, nobody asked me. I would hope that you don't give too much of a shit about what I have to say about the iPhone, in the same way I don't give too much of a shit about what you think about PSP, DS, Wii. We are men and we must form our own opinions without readily accepting what others tell us.
The fact is that we are all entitled to post our views on gaming here in this forum, and since you did it in your own topic, I did it too.
This is a place for discussion, after all, by all means continue to be the wise old sage that you are and be condescending to those who disagree with you.
But clearly you give enough of a shit to become enraged, and post an angry sounding post written in annnggrrries and condescending tone.
Reference image for illustrative purposesSeeing as you changed the tune of
your own topic, is it unreasonable for someone to believe that other posts regarding this content is acceptable or is this a do as I say and not as I do moment?
And I switched back to the original topic at the end to keep things on track, don't bash me for replying to your own off-topic post, which you then replied to with another off-topic post, I might add.
While most of what you said is indeed purely opinion, you wrote it with an objective tone.
You can't expect to write something in an objective tone about a topic that is purely subjective and NOT expect to be challenged, it is one of the many rules in critiquing/evaluating the arts.
I hope I have not angered you into not caring enough to write another giant wall of angry text
On a related note, I had Ramen and Tofu puffs for breakfast this morning.
Anyway like I did before, I will try and steer this back on track towards the end of my post:
Putting Sonic into Pandemonium would just look out-of-place.
The art styles of the two worlds clash completely, if it aint broke, why fix it?
It's like copy-pasta-ing Sonic into the Mona-lisa. While it may be novel and amusing at first, you have not really added any value to the original work, and in the end have just slapped something where it's not supposed to be.
To me, Pandemonium almost had a kind of majestic, dark and psychotic underlying quality to the brash colours of its worlds. Where as Sonic was just more, in-your-face pop colors and geometric shapes to be taken on face value alone(such as the triangles and grid patterns used for the background tiles on the old games, etc)
If you just want to feel/look like you are playing a Sonic game... why not just actually play a Sonic game?
There are plenty of them out there.
Have a nice day
*EDIT*
Oh wait it appears the off-topic train is running a little later than usual this afternoon...
Who the fuck do you think you are, exactly?
Other people are "fucknuts" because they don't use their iPhone for playing games?
Has it ever occurred to you that perhaps other people have different priorities than yourself?
Perhaps someone doesn't like the iPhone for a legitimate reason other than "I don't have one" or "It's made by apple so its gay".
I personally think it's a bit of a neutered phone experience in some ways, the 3GS improves on it in many ways though.
If I buy a laptop and use it mainly for listening to music and reading the internet, does that make me a "fucknut"?
The iPhone's operating system is a nice interface to interact with, that alone could sway people to buy it even if their primary requirement is only making phone calls and sending text messages.
What exactly are the requirements to become, a "fucknut"?
Please tell me moar about "fucknuts", I am willing to learn.
But try not to degrade my IQ to increase your own any more while we are at it.
