We've had the Olympic Games thing already on these boards ( I can't be arsed to search). I can confirm that we discovered the title was pulled after it had been reviewed by the SS mags. There was even back page ads for it on the mags.
Like the Saturn versions of Re:Loaded, Wild 9s and Ninja it must exist somewhere in 100% finished form, just not in a commercial package.

I know this thread is really old. But being a huge Athlete Kings fan (like Sych) i found this really interesting. Unless my mind is playing tricks on me im sure i remember seeing it advertised back in the 90's and being really dissapointed when it never came out. Does anyone have anymore info on it? Why was is not released when it was complete? (Or close too) has a playable demo of the game ever been released? Like some other saturn games have been.

Reloaded was definitely finished because certain magazines received review copies, but Ninja underwent a lot of changes between its Saturn version being cancelled and the final PlayStation code reaching shelves. To my knowledge, Core didn't restart development on either Ninja or Fighting Force, so we can rule out complete Saturn builds of either game surfacing in the future. However, that definitely wasn't the case for Reloaded, Chill, Adidas Power Soccer, CyberSled and a few other examples I could think of... As for Wild 9s, that's another scrapped long before a final Saturn build would have been prepared - there must be so many games in a similar form out there just waiting to be preserved by us prototype enthusiasts!

Should definitely lock this thread. But as for reviewed games that weren't released, it does happen. GamePro reviewed Krazy Ivan for the US Saturn but the game was pulled before a US release. (no pity there) In the US we had all kinds of magazine ads and previews for Saturn games that never came out. Barb Wire, featuring Pam Anderson was one I just flipped passed in an issue. Bubsy 3D ads all have Saturn listed below them. Killing Time ads had a Saturn logo on it (3D0 FPS that was supposed to come to the Saturn along side Battlesport). NHL Breakaway 98 ad had Saturn on them. I could go on all day with these. You can even buy retail backer cards on Ebay (ones that stores used to display the games) for a Saturn NHL Breakaway. And even Maximum Surge, which was game that had an ESRB rating and a UPC meaning it was ready for release. Ebay auction for the crappy boxart Ive actually thought about the Olympics Games/Olympic Soccer thing before. But its true, Olympic Games was only for PS1. I remember 2 page ads in Game magazines from US Gold. PS1 was getting Olympic Games and Saturn was getting Olympic Soccer. I would always look and wonder why they split the releases like that.

Actually mick_aka and synbiosfan you are both very wrong. I actually have the back issue of SSM issue 11 where they reviewed the game and gave it 79% . Its on page 82. So it does exist. Olympic Games was canned on Saturn they may have reviewed the PS1 version according to Saturn Power as there was a bit of magazine in fighting over it. U.S. Gold supposedly said there was a Saturn version and it got canned.

Hi, could you please define "future", and most important, the term " to be preserved" ?, this days, i´ve heard too much this phrase but sadly could have several meanings and consequences. Do you have any hope to see any new release of an unreleased Saturn game ? Talking about Olympic Games for the Saturn, i have some pictures from a spanish magazine where the game was rated, also there was a contest for subscribers where you could win a copy of the game, both for Saturn or PS.
