I've recently found out the latest version of SSF has been updated, but it still gives me the familiar DirectSound message... *sob*

R4 was released recently... unfortunately I can't get the last two versions to work, gives me an error about some "x2audio" initialization.

Played Daytona USA (PAL) today and I had noticed something strange, when you play on Advance or Expert course, you don't hear the engine when you start (that is after the countdown, when you throttle at the start/finish line everything is fine). Pausing and unpausing the game makes the engine audible again, but if you for example make a full stop, let go the accelerator and start again the problem returns (also on the Beginner track).
It's nothing major but slightly annoying and it happens on literally every SSF version I've tried (from 0.08 to 0.11). Could anyone make a quick test and confirm if it happens to him too?

People with DirecX or x2audio errors need to make sure they have the latest DirecX runtime files from Microsoft LINKI'll be updating my site this weekend...I swear!

No emulator ever was 100% accurate. SSF for now is about 95% complete I think, and it's still being tweaked, 0.12 prototype version was just released a few days ago.

It's not 95% accurate though, it just implements around 95% of the hardware - whether that implementation is accurate or not, thats another thing entirely. PAL compatibility was around 80% last time I went through all games, and only one or two games have been fixed since.

I was running the newest release (.12) and it was running DieHard Arcade fine, until I tabbed out of it.
After that I got a DX9 error every time I started the emulator, so I had to delete my ssf.ini file to get things working again.

In addition to this I've noticed that while older versions of SSF play the chip music slightly too fast, it would seem the newer versions play the music a little too slow on some games still (although on many games the emulation of sound is very accurate now)
