I will accept ANY Sega Saturn's in any state of repair, please DO NOT throw your broken Saturn's away. I am hoping to build up a large enough selection of Saturn spares to be able to provide members here with parts they need for free (plus postage for the part) There are always those weird bits that people need, lid catches, battery covers, replacement case sections, power boards etc. Eventually I would like to have a stock list on the forum so people know which parts are available. So again, any Saturns or Saturn parts, working or broken, please send them to me, I will always do my best to pay you postage for heavier packages. Please Private Message me by clicking on the letter icon under my name if you have anything. Many thanks, Mick.

Mick, I'm home now and I got that Saturn I was talking about. I'll donate it if you promise that this is non-profit and that any spare parts would be sent to whoever needs it at a maximum cost of postage. (If it was working I'd probably just give it to someone for free anyways)
I take it you don't need any of the cables or anything?
The only thing wrong with it is that the spinny thing that the disc sits on is too low. Probably easily fixable. The laser still works perfectly and everything and it powers on just fine. (Memory battery is dead though)
Could you resend me a postage address please?
Also, before I ship this to Mick, can anyone else benefit from this or use this? Anybody who only has one Saturn, and the only Saturn you own has to be broken. (Or someone with no Saturn at all who'd like one)
Thanks.

That does sound pretty easily fixable -- could be simple as pulling that the plastic spindle thingy up with a pair of need-nose pliers (of course, it'd be much easier to pull the top cover off first as those things sit up on top of a thin metal rod, and you can just sorta "push" it up using the needle nose plier). I once fixed a saturn like that, though I had to apply some shoe goop to keep it steady in that position.
Why doncha try that first before sending across the atlantic? I mean, the cost of such postage will be more than the value of the saturn as you have it right now.

Actually... that's a fantastic idea.
Thanks for the pointer. I'll try it out and if I get it working I'll offer it up in the trading section.
EDIT: I got it to work! I electrocuted myself doing it, and I can't feel my arm, but I did it!!

Why did you have the Saturn on when you were doing that...
<_<
I've touched the entire power board unplugged and never felt anything.
The only time I've ever been electrified from my Saturn is when I had it plugged in for volt testing and accidently brushed my arm against the coils on the psu!

Do you have already a list of spare parts? I have a broken Saturn but I live in Germany Besides I could need a CD-Drive from a Saturn that has a serial number that starts with 169....

Holy Cow, This is the best idea I've seen in an absolute age!! I'll ask around - as I think one of my mates is hanging onto one. I'll get back to you sometime in the week.
