Would be great for someone to do a translation of Grandia and release an English port for the Saturn. Supposing you played the PSX version and simply translated the English on that version word for word it wouldn't be too hard (for someone who knows about coding at least).

The translated text on the PSX version isnt great, and I'm pretty sure a few bits were left out...

As far as I can see, nothing was really 'left out'. Nothing that did not have something else substituted in to replace it.
I personally think the localisation was pretty good, it has that usual trademark americanisation though that Working Designs put in their work such as some characters speaking as though they are from the deep-south etc.
I actually quite enjoy it when localisers put a bit of their soul into a project - it's a shame Colonel Mulen's voice actor sounds like he's on a mission to kill himself throughout the game.
Although it could have been worse. You have not heard badly over-dubbed dialog until you have watched the British version of 'Grudge'. Holy shit!

im learning C++ and basic just so i can program games for the SATURN, i have even seen DEVELOPMENT KITS for the saturn, although at the moment i cant afford them, id love to make some games, and probably will in a year or 2, but the cost and availibity of a true SATURN DEVELOPMENT KIT is HORRID at best, the SATURN needs good wireless controllers too just to keep things nice, ive seen a German make a nice one, also SATURN development may be down because its so eays now to program for current systems and phones and tablets

You need C and assembly language for the Saturn really. C++ is a step in the right direction, basic won't be of any use. The Saturn isn't really the kind of system you cut your teeth on in programming terms, too much pain for too little gain!

^This, I did C and Assembley before my design degree and I've found Saturn programming to be nothing but a major headache, both with Orbit and more so with original dev software.

ya, but i've always wanted to make games on SEGA system and ive looked into it extinsively, and no matter how hard itis i want to be able to make games on my favourite system for nostalgia, also anyone know anything about homebrew on the master system, i know its possible on every other sega platform, except the 32X, wich im highly curius of, and can the saturn be run through a pc like the DREAMCAST for continued online play ? or just analog phonlines ?

Homebrew is entirely possible on the 32X too and indeed has been done. SMS is Z80 based, get something like an Everdrive and a Z80 cross compiler and you could start coding for it fairly easily I suspect.

2d simple games could be made on saturn without too much hassle, if yo uknow what to do. 3d ones are way more complicated.

My personal dream is for someone to reverse engineer the Sonic World portion of Sonic Jam and create an approximation of what Sonic Adventure may have looked like when it was still a Saturn project. Alternatively, how about if someone was to switch Bug's sprites for those of Sonic and implement a fish-eye camera to effectively resurrect Sonic Xtreme in one of its earliest-seen forms? Better yet, hack the backgrounds of Fighters Megamix (mostly by removing the ring walls) and slip in the correct music to produce a scaled-down Saturn port of Virtua Fighter 3, because there's probably a greater chance of this happening than the real thing ever being allowed out from the vault! there is actually a full game that seems to have the same engine as Sonic World. It's called Ninpen Manmaru, as always it's a Japanese exclusive, but it's pretty shitty though. An alternative that seems easier to acomplish (I guess, I don't know the first thing about coding) would be to port Sonic RoboBlast 2 to the Saturn, it's based on a Doom engine so it shouldn't be as hard to do. You can make your own characters and levels for this game, as with most Doom-Engined games, so somebody could make a really good looking gamepack for it on the Saturn.
