Does anyone else here use the Saturn IR controllers regularly? I noticed whenever I see pics of peoples setups they all have wired controllers, I reckon the Saturn Infra Red Controllers are probarbly the best wire-less controllers I have ever used. The controllers feel great to hold, the range is excellent and the battery life (x2 AA) is amazing considering how quickly my IR NES pads eat through them. So if you ever get the chance pick a set up they have my official seal of approval Incidentally, did any of the other 32bit generation consoles get official IR controllers?

Wow, I wasn't even aware the Saturn had official IR controllers. Thanks for the pic, and now I have something new to go hunting for.

I was lucky enough to pick up mine with a Model 1 UK console, I've seen boxed ones go for stupid money.
I have never ever seen any other than black ones in the UK/European type box so I have no idea if these were released in the USA or Japan?

I also never knew that the Saturn had official wireless controllers. Never seen em either in North America or Japan (not that I ever went specifically hunting for them).

I found this pic in my masses of files which would seem to suggest they were released in Japan for the grey Saturns:

Just to add a bit more info, it would seem there was a few different versions of these pads.
There were black euro pads, you got two pads and a sensor. Gray Jap pads, you also got two pads and sensor, and also white jap pads, now as far as I can find out the white Japanese pads came in a box with a single pad and sensor, a seccond pad had to be purchased seperately.
Also, there is aparently some way to use the Saturn's IR pads to control your TV set!

I saw a set of white IR controllers but can't justify the cost!

Wireless controllers are ace! I've got so used to using the wireless controllers for my Xbox, that going back to wired controllers feels weird. Also, the lead isn't that long and only just stretches to my settee, so I get woried sometimes thinking that i'll move and pull my Saturn out of TV cabinet and it'll smash on the floor

I'm on the look out for some wireless Saturn pads. Haven't spotted any yet though.
