Indulge me please, if you will:
1 - How difficult is it to change a mk2 case over?
2 - Can mk1 internals be modified to fit in a mk2 case?
thanks
Paul

1 - very easy indeed
2 - the cases, as far as I have experienced are internally identical, the first few MK2's still had the same old motherboard.

IIRC, the different mk2 internals all fit in the same type of case, so it shouldn't be a problem. 2. I suppose so, but I don't think it'll be a nice fit by any means. With the different motherboard revisions and all, the screw slots will probably be in different places. And there are also 2 rather different mk1 internals, which further complicate matters. (one with separate boards for LED and power lights, and the power supply stuck to the top, and the other, like mk2, the LED lights are on the main motherboard, but the light is transfered using a clear cone-like plastic piece.) Any particular reason for question #2? I ask because there are some things to make mk2 "behave" more like mk1 (adding an access signal light and all), and there is a somewhat rare model of mk1 saturns with the internals of a mk2.

I've got the chance of a non working white mk2 with UK internals and thought I may be able to put my mk1 hardware inside it.

I can confirm 100% that the 2 pal Mk1 consoles and 6 pal Mk2 consoles, although having very different board layouts all share exactly the same screw and support locations.

Ah, if that's the case (pun intended ), it shouldn't be too difficult of a job. Try it out and let us all know.

I missed the end of the auction and no-one bid on the broken white Saturn. But he doesn't reply to my mails
