I have just got a new MK1 Saturn from eBay. It boots up fine, but the console wont recognise discs and im lucky when it actually spins.
Can this be fixed because my parents wont let me get another replacement. Thanks for any help.

Sod your parents mate, I am not joking. By hook or by crook you should be getting another Saturn. You have just been unlucky thats all, I have never had a console break in 7 years. Can you not save or sell something? If you haven't got one within 3 months I will send you a pal model saturn, I mean it!!!!!!!!!!!

There's 2 second hand saturns in a local indoor market near me both around £30-£40 , one is unboxed and the other boxed with 10 games
surely there must be some around your area?
I have never had a saturn break on me once, you must be very unlucky
Also if it came broken from ebay cant you get a refund? did you pay by paypal?

I did get a refund on the Saturn, but my mum wont let me spend over £10 on a new Saturn as she thinks that it is a 'waste of valuable money' and that 'people who keep getting consoles after they have broken doesnt have a life.' (Yeah right.)

Simple answer? Don't tell your mum.

Can't you sell one or two of your PS3 or 360 games, buy a new Saturn, sell your old one for spares on eBay and tell your mum that your old one is fixed!
You have tried tweaking the lazer stregnth pot, haven't you?

Get another one and don't worry about what your mum says. Honestly, what would she prefer you spend your money on?
A) Fags B) Booze C) Crack D) Porn E) Sega Saturn
Honestly, some people! I guess I'm lucky that my parents always understood my love of games, and didn't make it an issue, thankfully my wife takes the same viewpoint. Don't you have a local indie games shop where you could trade some games for a Saturn?

Just realised retrovision, you have a 360 & PS3, scratch that offer, there was me thinking you were some deprived teenager. Your mum lets you have an overpriced piece of shite like a PS3 but wont let you own a £10 console?

I had a look a few weeks ago at every shop in my town and there was no Saturn stuff in any of them except for the odd copy of VF2.I am going to have another look this weekend as I am getting some money next week. The reason why I wont use eBay is because my first Saturn died in 2 weeks and my second one was already dead when it came.My mum will let me get one from a shop, but I have only ever seen ONE Saturn in a shop window in the past 5 or so years, and the shop that it was seen in doesnt even carry retro stuff anymore.

Does no-one on here have a spare machine to help Retrovision out?
I don't have a spare, but someone on here might. It could be tested working before it's sent. A photo, too, maybe?
Would you be allowed that?
