Been playing Pandemonium for the last couple of days. I love this game. It's just so much fun, the graphics are great, the music is mostly catchy, and there's plenty of hidden treasure to find in every levels. These are things that everything a platformer should be. Sure, there's some slowdown here and there, but it doesn't effect the game badly. Some of the later levels are rock hard too.
Has anyone played the PS1 version of this game? Does the game still have the slowdown in it? Are the graphics any better? Any other differences?

I've been playing Sega Rally Championship the past few days, and I found the cheat to try out the Lakeside course last night (man, that is a difficult track!).

Just hold X+Y on your Saturn controller and then select Time Attack, 2-Player Battle, or Arcade Practice mode. Just scroll past Mountain and it should appear (all four pictures won't fit on the screen at the same time).

Jap Golden Axe: The Duel has been kicking my ass tonight. (thanks Kaede)
I forgot how tricky it is - top game, though.

What exactly is Golden Axe: The Duel? Is it a beat-em-up like all the other ones? As far as today goes, I didn't get much Saturn gameplay in as opposed to yesturday's hour of 2 Player Death Tank Zwei, 30 minutes of some homebrew 12 player snake game (that we played only 2 players and still had a blast) and about 2-3 consecutive hours of Prikura Daisakusen. (Odd, yet fun game) Today I popped in Shining Wisdom just to check it out. Not a bad game so far. But not long after I switched to Gun Frontier and played that for about 30 minutes. Harder than I remember it being. Maybe it was the 3 hours of sleep... And marc, Souky sounds like a good idea. I might pop that in for a bit before bed. ...or maybe I should play until my fingers break. I don't want Segata Sanshiro come knocking on my door. EDIT: Just played some Souky. 2nd time I've ever played it. I got to the sixth stage. :/ I don't know how I lost 2 continues on the stage 3 boss... but before that point I didn't die once. After that boss it got easy for me again. And I was playing with one hand for the most of it. (Auto Fire top L button) Going by reviews online I expected the game to be harder. :/ I didn't even use a single bomb. Oh well. Maybe the game isn't only 6 levels long like most other arcade shooters? That'd be great! But yeah now I'm going to bed... I need it. Maybe next month I'll work on trying to no miss the entire game. It's pretty fun!

Golden Axe: The Duel is actually a fighting game. As for Souky, it has a very stiff ranking system. Meaning the the better you do, the harder the game becomes in the later stages. For example, picking up power ups actually makes the enemies stronger. If you avoid collecting powerups, enemies actually die much faster in the later levels.

To the Golden Axe: The Duel comment: Eh. I might pass then. Not a big fan of fighters. Bah! But then again, I think I'll try it once. I do like some fighting games. Who knows? I might like this one... To the Souky comment: Ah! So I was doing good because I sucked, right? Makes sense now! Thanks for clearing that up for me. The first two levels I no missed, killed every enemy and grabbed 90%+ of the items. I guess I was doing too awesomely for my own good by the time I reached the level 3 boss. Maybe that's why all of a sudden the difficulty jumped on me leaving me going "WTF?!", then after the game seen me lose like 2 or 3 credits on that boss alone, it toned down when it realized I wasn't all that.

Yeah, the first 4 stages or so in Souky don't change very much, but after that, you'll notice a BIG difference.
