My first fighter i played on the saturn was X-Men: Children of the Atom. Sounds strange? Usually anyone I know who plays the saturn starts with virtua fighter, fighting vipers, mortal kombat, or darkstalkers. I had all those choices but I wanted to try that X-Men game because of a secret fighter.....AKUMA!!
Anyone else like fighters?

I absoloutely love them, have to say X-Men: Children of the Atom is my third favorite behind Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Last Bronx.
I still look in astonishment at how good Last Bronx looks over any other 3D fighter of the same era.

Love them, though I'm not that all that good at 'em.
The Saturn has got to have one of the strongest fighter lineups. No question that is has an excellent 2D fighter lineup, but I think the cream of the crop 3D saturn fighters are fantastic. For me, Fighters Megamix didn't look as good as Virtua Fighter 2 or Last Bronx, but I think it's the most fun brawler on the Saturn.
And talking about Last Bronx, I dunno why Last Bronx got so little love by a lot of people - I think it's a great game. I know this will upset a lotta Soul Calibur fans, but I think Last Bronx is the most fun weapon-based fighter out there.

I'm a big World Heroes fan from my Neo Geo MVS system, and I was wondering if anyone had played the World Heroes Perfect game for the Saturn. Any good? Also has anyone played the Street Fighter Collection?

Also has anyone played the Street Fighter Collection? Yeah. Minus the slight loading times, they're pretty much perfect conversions as far as I can tell (Super Street Fighter II/Turbo and SFA2: Gold). Oh, and you can unlock Cammy for in SFA2. The Saturn control pad is unbeatable for Capcom (and other 2D) fighters. I'd much rather play them on my Saturn than any other system.

Yeah, pretty short collection.
Favorite out of the 3 would have to be... Virtua Fighter 2.

Virtua Fighter 2 was the first fighting game I played when I got my Saturn in xmas 96, was a bit disappointed I cpmpleted arcade mode after 10 minutes. Hard to believe it ended up being my most-played Saturn game. Still one of the best fighters out there.
Fighting Vipers is probably second best, didn't like it was first, thought the characters like Sanman looked a little gay. Didn't play as well as VF2 despite also being from YuSuzuki's AM2. Did grow on me though, loved smashing my opponant's through glass walls with guitars.
The only exclusive Saturn fighting games I can remember are:
Virtua Figter Virtua Fighter 2 Virtua Fighter Kids Fighting Vipers Last Bronx Fighters Megamix Golden Axe: The Dual Dead or Alive (arcade conversion)

Nah, Tekken 3 and Soul Blade on PlayStation were miles ahead, Dead or Alive was also far better looking on Saturn, probably Virtua Fighter 2 too.

Fighter Megamix was one of the best fighters i've played, so much depth for the time.
Virtua Fighter Kids was fun too. The first game I got with my Saturn.
Got X-Men COTA too, but could never unlock Akuma!
Going to buy Last Bronx soon. Always thought that was pretty cool.

Nah, Tekken 3 and Soul Blade on PlayStation were miles ahead, Dead or Alive was also far better looking on Saturn, probably Virtua Fighter 2 too. I've made a point of playign Tekken 3, VF2 and Last Bronx today, and im sorry but you're wrong! The textures on some of the Tekken 3 characters are a little nicer, not better resolution, just more nicely done, however the quality of the models is pretty much identical (I may try and exoprt some out to do a polygon count) the fluidity of movement is about the same, the T3 camera angles are so damn annoying sometimes! There really isnt much between them, but Last Bronx just feels better to play, it looks allot sharper and more detailed (even though I dont think it has much over T3 detail wise) If T3 has anything over Last Bronx it's that is has a slightly more polished look to it, graphical glitches and errors are very few, where as I spotted quite a few playing LB.

I love Vampire Hunter - Darkstalkers Revenge.
I can also reccommend Astra Superstars and Asuka Burning Fest 120%
Waku Waku 7 was an good conversion but those backdrops were really blocky and low res >_<
Xmen VS SF was awesome but Marvel VS SF imo was better!
out the 32-bit wars generally all the Street Fighting games were better.. although I was slightly dissappointed with the Super Street Fighter II X/turbo cause I didnt find it as smooth and because the music was from CD meaning it didnt loop.
One game im interested in getting some time in the future is Elan Doree and I also wanna get that Crows game.

Astra Super Stars is certainly awesome. The ebay prices are as usual badly inflated (though its not cheap here in Japan either). The game has to be the most fluid fighter I've ever played. Its not very deep and is really floaty, but its a great game if your just looking for fun. ;D

There really isnt much between them, but Last Bronx just feels better to play I don't think you could even put Last Bronx in the same league as Tekken, nor is Fighting Vipers. You guys can ask me as many times as you want which is better, VF or Tekken, you'll never get a straight answer out of me

I feel the same way about Tekken and Virtua Fighter. Even though I play V.F. more than Tekken. They are both good games. I think Namco should have stopped right after Tekken 3. The tag game was weird. Sega did a fantasic job with both V.F. 2 and Kids(lol). Both of them are fun to play. WHOA! I had a crazy idea.....What if Sega and Namco did a cross-over fighting game? You know how crazy that would be!!?!?!?!?!?!? AKIRA V.S. LAW, PAI V.S. NINA, JACKY V.S. PAUL!!!!! HOLY CRAP THAT WOULD BE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOL!!

a magazine in the UK did an April fools joke years back showing screen shoots of a VF vs Tekken game, they called it something like Ultimate Mega Fighting Mix.
There could have been a real one too a few years back, as Namco proposed a merger with SEGA, just before they merged with Sammy. But SEGA never responded to the interest and nothing came of it.
