One thing that I hate about most platformers is that they're too easy.
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile is an incredible game, but was too easy (unless you sort to get all 150 gems on each level). Clockwork Knight 2 isn't too hard so long as you put the time in.
But DAMN Keio 2 is something else. Is it me or is this game almost so hard it's insulting? I have the first on the Sega Mega CD and that took some real time to get as far as I have done. Been playing on normal and hard settings and I can't even get past the second level (been playing it for about 2 hours now).

I remember the Mega CD version given away by Sega Pro magazine. According to urban legend, the mag was on such a deadline that they put the whole game on the cover as a restricted demo. They hoped no-one would notice, but some smart ass tried the level select cheat on the demo and discovered you could open up the whole game!

I read that. i never got that magazine though. Although that was the magazine that sparked my interest in the first game. I'd never seen animation like that before. I'd never heard of Anime (because in those days you didn't really get Anime in the UK). Always wanted the game. And now I have it This second game is really strange though. The plot is more of an excuse to just put any random stuff in. I wish they made a third (technically there was, in a shape of a boardgame). We need more crazy shooters/ platformers like Keio Flying Squadron, Parodius, etc.

I've owned this twice in the past and each time I got bored of it quick.. probably because it was a lil hard for me... wish I kinda kept it the 2nd time cause its worth a bit now

keio is a strange cookie......very enjoyable though. I like the shooter stages more than the platform ones , but it is a good mix.......
