I've seen those pics before, quite some considerable ammount of time ago, but I cant remember wether it was magazine, online or at a show.
Good to see them again though!

Now i'm thinking that maybe those pics can come from an model 3 emu...those texturees...too unpixelated...but by the other hand.. it seems some pics from a proto..

Have they been proven to be real and genuine?

no they were never proved to be genuine, even back when they were on daves site (sega-saturn.com) and they are very suspicious.

I'm skeptical about the pics as well. Though it looks grainy, the number of polygons look like it'd be way too advanced for something the Saturn could handle.
But it's an interesting topic for sure.

They're model 3 emulation shots. Saturn Junkyard ran with a story on them a few weeks back.

To be honest, Virtua Fighter 2 beat Tekken 3 down on all aspects, technical and gameplay wise despite there being a, what, three/four year age difference =/ ?

They are just screenshots from incomplete Model 3 support in MAME, though I guess with the models from Fighters Megamix and those quality backgrounds you could do some great fooling come April 1st - hoaxers fire up your copies of Photoshop in preparation!

Just like there will never be a re-make of Panzer Dragoon Saga ever, because the Team Andromeda old boys said there's none of the original data left, and they wouldn't be able to start from scratch =O !

Why couldn't they start from scratch? Surely it's just a matter of £££?
And what happened to the original data?

To this very day, the master disc of Saturn Virtua Fighter 3 (Revision 2) remains in the personal possession of an employee within Sega Europe who has been loyal to the company since this game's cancellation way back nearly ten years ago. Unfortunately, due to the possibility of this one still being released in the future I cannot disclose any further details, such as a name 0 though I should point out the chances of this happening are about as slim as Panzer Dragoon Saga going up on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow, even you never really know with Sega based on recent decisions it has made!
