No, Art of fighting never got released on Saturn. Probably just as well, most SNK ports to Saturn were pants. It did get a release on megadrive, wasn't that bad considering the hardware limitations. SNK games are best played on the host hardware.

Yeah a lot of NeoGeo-Saturn fighting game ports turned out fairly disappointing. Main problem was the lack of RAM. Even the NeoCD with its massive 7mb of RAM, wasn't enough for most NeoGeo games. AOF3 CD is missing like 2/3 of the animation, a lot of background sprites, and the AOF trademark "zoom feature."
The non-fighting games turned out fairly well though on Saturn. Twinkle Star Sprites is a lot better on Saturn then the Neo. Magical Drop 2 and 3 are missing animation, but play great regardless. Metal Slug gets some nasty slowdown, but great port though.

There are also some drawbacks on saturn ports of SNK and Capcom games: they keep the sound from the arcade so: 1) some audio tracks have some clicks/pops (like in Metal Slug and D&D) 2) some audio tracks don't have high frequencies like MP3s audio tracks (most of the Capcom arcade games)

Agreed, TSS is a great port, one of my fave shooters of all time...... and yeah, Metal Slug, while it looks the part and is highly playable has slowdown and loading issues, much better than the PS1 port though. I think Capcom did a much better job porting to Saturn, especially with the fighters, IMHO.
