The changes tell me nothing as SF newbie. I go for SFZ 2 and when i'm interested I burn a copy of SFC and check this version out.

That Astra Superstars to be honest just doesn't suits me at all. I still think that for a second game i should pickup something from SNK. Please anyone, choose one game from SNK and tell me why. NeoGeoNinja, please respond, you seem to be a person with appropriate knowledge about SNK and their NeoGeo ports. What is the difference between sega saturn snk games experience comparing to original neogeo experience ? Let's say KOF96 on saturn and on neogeo. Let's say saturn is 99% arcade perfect and neogeo is 100% arcade perfect. Does this 1% makes a difference ?

Let's say saturn is 99% arcade perfect and neogeo is 100% arcade perfect. Does this 1% makes a difference ? Loading times! Games like Real Bout Special where it's a single fight ain't so bad, you get load screens before and maybe after fights. The KOF games on the other hand, specifically KOF 96 and 97 need to load every time a fighter is beaten and the next fighter in the team jumps in. So that's anywhere up to 5 times a fight. Games like Fighters History load once on boot, World Heroes Perfect is pretty quick as well.
On the flip side though, the CD versions have enhanced music which is pretty f*cking awesome compared to the carts and the port itself in regards to accuracy is fairly spot on. There may be subtle differences to the timing on some combos etc but unless you are a KOF die hard you won't notice the difference.
My personal opinion is avoid the KOF games if you're impatient, if you can handle the load times though then absolutely '96 or '97 should be considered.

Personally, depending on how fighting game orientated your friends are, out of all the SNK titles for the Saturn, I'd recommend Samurai Shodown IV. It's more accessible than Samurai Shodown III in every way and looks and plays delightfully. I think you're friends would really enjoy and appreciate it too. It's a VERY good conversion of the NeoGeo version btw. Like Caseh said, chances are, the KOF series might frustrate with its loading in between characters' 3-on-3 matches and the Real Bout games are tough for newbies to get into, somehow. Samurai Showdown IV.

Guys, i just finally graduated from University of Technology last friday! I simply took my japanese saturn model 1 which was waiting for that day since march (never played on it before) and the first game which i run was street fighter alpha 2, just to check how the console works before putting x-men vs street fighter. OMG we just couldn't stop playing street fighter alpha 2! This game is AMAZING! Delightful backgrounds, catchy music, very good roster of different characters and superb 2d graphics with a lot of colors. I am shocked! I've only played street fighter 3rd strike on dreamcast and i thought that it was quite good and there could not be a better street fighter than that, especially the older one. But now i can see that street fighter alpha 2 which was developed for cpsII capcom hardware is multiple times better than street fighter 3rd strike which was for capcom cpsIII system. How is this possible ?
We tried X-Men vs Street Fighter but after a while we just came back to street fighter alpha 2. X-Men vs Street Fighter was too much... chaotical. In X-Men vs Street Fighter it's like mashing into buttons and a lot of crazy things happens on the screen. Street Fighter Alpha 2 seems like a more tactical game for me.

Can't recommend the Saturn version I'm afraid. They really crippled it not making it RAM compatible. Slows down really badly on many of the stages. Otherwise, as a NeoGeo game (for example), it's excellent! It's great (Saturnfan) that you enjoy Fatal Fury 3, regardless, but honestly, the Saturn version is a tad rough compared to the arcade version. Definitely underrated/overshadowed by the Real Bouts though imo...

MK Trilogy , or even MK 2 Recently i gave the Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 a try on the Saturn with my cousin and... The whole game was really cool, it has that Mortal Kombat atmosphere and fun, but the loading times are very long and the fights are very fast and ends very quickly - that is very annoying. We ended up playing Metal Slug - a superb game for a co-op gameplay I didn't play Guardian Heroes yet, is this game better than Metal Slug for a co-op play ?

I'd say, realistically, although two different genres, the co-op play in both is absolutely excellent. Guardian Heroes draws you both in more as it has a back story through out, but in terms of actual gameplay... Actually, thinking about it in more detail... Guardian Heroes is probably better still, due to the 3-plane system. Makes it much easier to manage the hordes of enemies between you, very effectively. Both are top-shelf co-op in my book though

I'm missing Groove on fight. While it is far from the best fighter on the Saturn it isn't as bad as some others. It features some really nice graphics, though game mechanics could be a lot better. Certainly fun for a few games.

Is it worth to buy Street Fighter Alpha 2 if you already own Street Fighter Zero 2? Just ask because i bought a saturn / games package with Street Fighter Alpha 2. But SFA2 has NO manual. And my problem is i hate incomplete games. I have three options - sell the incomplete game, buy a complete game or keep it incomplete. Best solution is to buy just the manual but where can you buy a single manual
