So I saw this posted over on Sega-16 and SegaXtreme. I thought it might be something fun to start playing around with when I get the time. The engine and tools can be found here on the creators site: www.jo-engine.org/It seems pretty straight forward to use and is written in C. It also comes with some nice editing tools: And there's a Sonic Demo the author wrote a while back: I figured I'd post this if anyone here wanted to try playing around with it. Also a while back we discussed doing a group homebrew project, this might make it a bit more doable if anyone still wanted to do that.

This is awesome. How long has it been around? I like that the guy is a Saturn enthusiast too so we may see bigger things in the future.

Wow this looks really cool. I've always wanted to start screwing around with some game stuff in my spare time. I know how to program, but I've never applied it towards anything game-related.

Is it a better forum than Assembler for Saturn dev talk? there is no(or so rarely) saturn dev talk on assembler. also there are all resources needed to do saturn dev on segaxtreme + some people knowning dev & hardware on saturn. if you need more go on irc.

So I saw this posted over on Sega-16 and SegaXtreme. you're welcome to participate on segaxtreme too I do post there from time to time. If I can find time to start playing with this I might start posting there more often. I've had some ideas bouncing around in my head such as seeing if I can create a DDR clone that's based on Stepmania so the timing is correct and people could just put in their favorite stepmania files for the songs they want. Another one I had that might be fun for a group project was to see if recreating Sonic CD for the Saturn was a possibility with it. Most of the info for creating an accurate classic Sonic engine is on SonicRetro, so I'd imagine it could be pretty doable.

Well if we wanted to jump into doing that, the info on Sonic's physics and what not can be found here: info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_Physics_Guideinfo.sonicretro.org/SCHG:Sonic_CD

Interesting to look at those links you provided. Ive always wondered why Sonic CD wasnt included on Sonic Jam and perhaps it was just programmed alot differently.

I guess if they could, they would have put Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic CD, Spinball on the same disc.
