I am also going to go for Last Bronx, for the main reason that I own it and have played it a fair bit, and can't say the same for DOA as it never released here. That's my only reason, given how much I played the shit out of DOA2 and DOA3 then I dare say that would be totally different had I had a chance to play Dead or Alive around release time.

I voted for Last Bronx, as I quite liked the game, and happen to also own it. DOA is not a game I own (on Saturn), and although I vaguely recall playing it in the arcades at college, my "modern" experience of it is from playing it on the Xbox in the Dead of Alive 2 Ultimate collection. I think that is the Saturn port included on that disc. By that time, it felt a bit primitive, especially compared to Dead or Alive 2 (even the DC and PS2 versions, rather than the souped up Xbox version)!

One of the greater pleasures I get from having a switchless reset Saturn is forcing already PAL Optimised games into 60hz mode. Games like Last Bronx and Virtua Fighter 2, although they were already optimised, play even better in 60hz. Last Bronx is awesome in this mode. Quick and fluid gameplay.

I tried that VF2 and found it extremely more fluid and playable. Will have to try with LB.

Thanks for the recommendation, sych. Last Bronx at 60Hz is a far more fluid game. I'd forgotten how beautiful this game looks. I thought it had been fully PAL optimised but switching back to 50Hz to watch the anime clips with the subttitles, I noticed small borders and a slightly slower game speed. The character poses at the end of matches are a bit more glitchy in 60Hz too, but in-game its all good.
I also tried Fighting Vipers in 60Hz and it introduced quite a lot of glitching on the characters and some of the walls (especially on Candy's and Raxel's stages). It also introduced slowdown in some of the matches. I can't recall if there was much of a speed boost, but from memory FV was fully PAL optimsed anyway.

Yeah PAL Fighting Vipers isn't that great in 60hz mode. But another 2 PAL optimizes games that are even better in 60hz mode are Die Hard Arcade and Fighters Megamix. If you have those two games as well, give them blast and see for yourself.
