First duel of the week and we're at Saturn golfing wars. Word on the street is these 4 are the best Golf games on the Saturn but if you had to pick one which will it be: Valora Valley Golf, Pebble Beach Golf Links, Virtua Golf or Actua Golf? Which in your opinion is the best Golf game on the Saturn. For anyone considering getting just one golf game for their collection, I imagine this poll will be quite helpful. Pick one and comment below. ACTUA GOLFVIRTUA GOLFPEBBLE BEACH GOLF LINKSVALORA VALLEY GOLF

Of the games featured in this poll, I still love going back to Pebble Beach Golf Links, which earns my vote. For those interested in bizarre facts, this title runs on the same engine as another very different project by T&E Soft, specifically Virtual Hydlide. Also, it should be noted that Valora Valley Golf was its spiritual successor, being something of a glorified expansion pack with less realistic, fictional courses and no sign of Craig Stadler, AKA The Walrus.

Craig Stadler sure has some fans. But did Valora improve any of the gameplay mechanics of Pebble Beach or was it pretty much the same?

Pebble Beach is a typical realistic golf simulator of the era, while Valora has courses that feature wildly undulating volcanic environments and require you to frequently judge seemingly physically impossible shots. If anything, it's closer to crazy golf than its predecessor, though both run on the same basic technology and do look very similar beyond them having extremely different settings. However, one key improvement that Valora introduced was more polygonal detail, which cuts to flat shaded mode when the camera is moving - it's only when you're stationary that textures will load up, suggesting a limitation with the underlying engine or an attempt to keep the speed up during motion (which is hilarious when you consider the frame rate of these two games and the aforementioned Virtual Hydlide).

I'm going to give it to Actua Golf as it's the only one I've played and as far as I remember it was a very good game. If I could used one word to describe it, it would be 'Solid' Just wish there was music during matches. Pebble Beach and Valora look very interesting, might have to look into them if I ever decide I want a different golf game.

Im a huge golf fan (watch it, play it etc) but I actually haven't played many of the Saturn ones yet. Own most of them.
Is Actua Golf the same as VR Golf that we got in the US? If so Ive heard that one is usually ranked as the best.
Its too bad EA did such a poor job with the PGA series on Saturn (super long load times) as that series became one of my favorites with Tiger 99 on PS1.

I only own and have played pebble beach golf, which I really enjoyed. "can you get it inside mine?"
love it but I'm by no means any golf expert.

ONLY 2 VOTES! Shocking so far. Where's all the Golfers at? And I was going to do Pinball next week, not sure how that's gonna go down now after seeing this but maybe Pinball will prove to be more popular than Golf but we'll see.

Voted for Pebble beach golf. I love Craig Sadler advice (Craig you look pretty bored. It's golf, your sport that made you big!). The caddy on the screen makes me very frustrating, so I'm putting extra hard presses on the buttons, unfortunately no effect.

All these polls are really helping me pick through some games I've been looking at! Wanted a good golf game for my Saturn and it looks like pebble beach is the one to get!

I'm glad my polls are of some help. I'd personally go for Valora Valley Golf as it has a great edge to it and slightly more exciting than Pebble Beach unless you value the presence of Craig Stadler.

I'll watch some videos on both and decide, valora looked a bit too 'busy' on first impressions but if it's cheap enough I might just go for it.

I played valora some weeks ago and I must say it felt a lot better even than pebble beach. I would definitely recommend it.
