I did notice not to many ppl on here seem to collect pal? seems to be more jap imports or ntsc but I like the pal region I think the language barrier of jap imports takes something away from the game. even in things like beatem ups where it doesn't effect gameplay I think it detracts from the overall game experience. and we just wanted a target really
looked trough the pal list there wernt many on there we didn't want to play. and even the more expensive ones seemed like things we would play.

I'm a PAL collector too discopigs. Not interested in NTSC Shooters, happy to look for PAL games only.

Think there are quite a few PAL collectors here. I used to be but I moved onto imports. I've kept some PAL games that got good translations or run at 60Hz without any problems on an import machine. Means there isn't a language barrier if there are a lot of menus and options (e.g. Saturn Bomberman).

Most people on this site just buy what they want to play rather than hold loyalties to a certain region. In some cases members might favor JPN/US versions as certain PAL games were unoptimised and run at the terrible 50hz @ 17.5% less speed with big black boarders so its a no brainer to buy the US/JPN version of certain games, unless you have a modded console then of course choice is everything.
My collection is made up of PAL, US and JPN games. I'd personally never want a full collection from any 1 region. Especially PAL. Owning games like Euro 96, NHL 98' Lemmings 3D, Shellshock, Atlantis, Discworld, Harcore 4 X 4 and Virtua Fighter 1, Virtua Fighter Remix, Streetfighter Movie, Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Die Hard Trilogy are definitly not my cup of Tea and would be a waste a money for me as I would never in a million years play them. I'd rather just buy smartly and play what I want to play regardlless of region. But each to their own of course.

I totally get the full collection thing, but my personal aim is to have the best and most playable titles for a system, rather than take up space with shovelware. Along with every other console the Saturn has it's fair share of it.

im looking forward to playing the disc world games myself, I played them years ago on pc. and while u have your opinion about some of the shitty games like nhl and fifa luckily they tend to only be a few quid and for a few quid I will quite happily pick them up play them for 30 mins on 2 player have a look at the old player etc and shelve it. and happily never play it again lol.

I also have a lot of nostalgia with Shell shock. I played A LOT of that game back in the 90's. Not sure why but I did. Is Atlantis no good?? I've never played it. I've played Myst and enjoyed that and recently started playing through Torico which I'm enjoying. But you don't like Atlantis?

I've played Myst and enjoyed that and recently started playing through Torico which I'm enjoying. But you don't like Atlantis? I don't like Myst either. Point and click adventures bores the hell out of me. I hear Atlantis and Discworld are very good so if you enjoyed Myst you should definitely look into Atlantis. There's another one of that kind called Riven, you might even enjoy games in similar vein like Mansion of Hidden Souls as well. When you've branched into all regions for Saturn gaming, you become aware what the machine was actually capable of in the hands of the right developers, it raises your standards. Which means going back to certain games like Shellshock, Die Hard Trilogy and Mortal Kombat Trilogy e.t.c makes you realise how terrible those games truly are as you've experienced their better counterparts. I have alot of great nostalgia for Mortal Kombat as well but everytime the game slightly pauses to load in a finisher or a Shang Tsung morph, I'm reminded I should be playing this on a Mega Drive or Snes and by the time the franchise made its way to the 32-bit era I was already over it as other fighting games had greater evolutions. Judging the 3 MK efforts on the Saturn, definitely UMK3 over MKT over MK2.
