I didn't know there were other magical girl shmups for Saturn besides Cotton 2. Cotton 2 is one of my favorite shmups of all time, so not much of a choice here for me.

3 really good games, but there's a clear winner for me. Cotton2 is one of the best hori shooters on the Saturn, it's fast, frantic and has great gameplay. It's also cute, which isn't my particular favourite style of graphics, doesn't hold it back though. Cotton2 wins it for me. Love this game. Sengoku blaede is another great hori, I like the over the top medieval Japanese theme, it looks great, uses the same engine as strikers but achieves a better result. Gameplay is amazingly tight. brilliant psikyo shooter! Sol divide is my least favourite of the 3. I think it feels a little generic at times, and is not as well put together or as fluid as cotton2 or sengoku blaede, it's still really playable however. I enjoy this game and play it, but lacks a bit of polish, for me anyway.

Cotton Boomerang might have been a better option to include, but I have to go with Sengoku.

Regarding Sol Divide vs Cotton 2 vs Sengoku Blade. I have to give it to Sol Divide. I just have way more fun playing it over the other two. The melee elements work so well within this shump and add an additional alternative to just standing back and holding down buttons for rapid fire. I just love the grandness of the spell casting alot more here too. Sengoku Blade alsmost quenched it for me but Sol Divide edges it out because it replyability is alot higher. Sengoku Blade has the best music though. Cotton 2 is actually my least favorite of the 3 games. Sol Divide it is for me. Cotton Boomerang might have been a better option to include, but I have to go with Sengoku. Don't worry I haven't forgot Boomerang, I plan it up against the two Technosoft giants for the battle of best horizontal shooter.

The chaining and alternative attacks give Cotton2 a depth that isn't present in many shooters, it's that dimension of gameplay that makes it stand out. It's almost a perfect game. It's too cute though! Deduct 10 points.

Cotton 2 just because it is technically quite brilliant using all sorts of 2D magic. Konami should have asked Success to reprogram the Saturn version of Akumajo Dracula X SoTN. Sengoku Blade is fine but personally I don't find anything special apart from it just looks and plays nice. Sol Divide I don't like that much.

Still the only Sol Divide lover in the house lol. No biggie though. One thing I will say about Cotton 2 is that I prefer it to Boomerang. I really don't know why they got rid of the additional RAM features for the sequel.
