Hello SS forum,
I bought my JP Saturn when I discovered the shmup genre and wanted to get Radiant Silvergun, not available anywhere else then. Since then, I got some other shooters for the system, as well as some other games too. My most prized possessions happen to be an (almost full) set of JP shooters, and the full Working Designs US collection with all CD variants. And now I'm old. So no time to play, but money to be spent collecting, and some time to be wasted on forums like here.

Hey guigui!
Welcome to the community! Hopefully you can find sometime to play but it sounds like you have a great collection already. Love to hear if you add any more.

Thank you Captain.
I had the best video-gaming time with my Saturn, when I finally could 1CC Radiant Silvergun for the 1st time for instance (though I must admit that blindly exploring Demons Souls and Dark Souls on the good ol' PS3 was even better). I still miss some major pieces in my collection, the search never ends.

1CC radiant silvergun. I could never imagine. 1CC on any shmup is something I will never achieve.
I hear radiant silvergun is absolutely amazing though.
I assume you like spot goes to hollywood though based on your pic.
Haven't gotten into dark souls myself but I could see exploring in that game being amazing when you are not dying.

I've never known anyone that could 1CC Radiant Silvergun. Congratulations that's a massive achievement.

Come on misters, 1CC Radiant is not that hard. The game is mainly memorization, and there are safe routes in almost every stages. Though, when not scoring properly, the pre-last boss Xyga can become a massive pain.
Dark Souls is indeed amazing, even when dying. I had a long (like 10+ years) break from videogames, came back to it with a lot of shmups on the Saturn and such, but could not get into "modern" gaming on the PS3/XBox consoles. Then I read this article about Demons Souls, bought it and whoa ! At least a game where loosing actually has consequences. The feeling of both having to progress further to uncover the game, and having to stay safe to keep your souls, makes for a perfect risk/reward mechanism. A little like shmups games actually : risk your life to improve your score.
As for the avatar it is only Cool Spot from the Megadrive, one of my favorite when I was young, before the break.

Have heard a lot of good things about Dark Souls. My problem is I have too many games already that I need to play/finish!

Hmmm, I kind of second the "look at beginner's advice to start", but only really beginners advice. One really nice aspect of the game is that you have to discover everything by yourself, so not spoiling oneself too much is good.
Beginner's advice on those points you have to allocate when levelling up : - Put points in End (max 40), and Vit. - Do no put points in Res. - Put just enough points in Str/Dex to use that weapon you seem to like. - Do not spread your points. - If you do not know what to do with your souls, upgrading the Pyro flamme is a pretty good choice to delay the moments where you'll decide where to invest.
