In the meantime my Saturn Console is ordered now it is time to think about the games.
My favourite Genres, aber JRPGS, Action Adventure and Beat um Ups
What games in this genre would be you consider a must have for the Saturn.?
Would be pleased hearing some opinions.

thats a general question, what Saturn did you order? what region was it? do you have a way to play import games? etc.
the import part in particular is important for the Saturn

It is an Pal Saturn. But I am also trying to find an Action Replay for the Saturn to use Import Games. That is essential because there are much more Japan Releases than Pal Releases.

if you get an action replay, make sure its a 4 in 1 , so you can play the expansion pack games
for beat em ups, youve got Virtua Fighter 2 , Fighters Megamix , Last Bronx, UMK3 and Street Fighter Collection all of which got PAL releases . For Japanese stuff Id get Dead or Alive, Marvel Superheroes vs Street Fighter , Vampire Savior , Street Fighter Zero 3 . There are also Dynamite Deka/Die Hard Arcade and Guardian Heroes.
for RPGs (of various kinds) id go for Shining Force 3 , Panzer Dragoon Saga, Dark Savior , Shining the Holy Ark. The Japanese library has a tonne of RPGs like Grandia , Lunar, Shining Force 3 Scn2 and 3 , Wachenroder etc, but obviously the barrier of entry is high. Some of those do have translation patches/scripts though.
Action Adventure is a bit vague , but I guess you could count Tomb Raider , Burning Rangers, Croc. Other people have often recommended Ninpen Manmaru as well
note some of these games can be a bit pricy, though you can usually save a bit by going for the import route.

Beat 'em'Ups or Fighting Games? Those are two different genres. Regardless, Darkman01 has recommended some great games to get you going so not much I am going to add at this stage apart from Victory Boxing.
But since you have a PAL Saturn I would seriously recommend you get the 60hz switch fitted on it as some games will not perform properly at 50hz. The Capcom heavy hitters imparticular are seriously crippled at 50hz.

I second that, a 60hz switch is very useful for the Japanese games too , since some of them will have issues related to the music and such (I remember this with some of the Capcom games) , nevermind the automatically crippled speed.

PAL gaming - get Street Fighter Alpha 2
It will play fine at 60Hz if you ever get your console modified.

marc Thanks a lot for the advise. If the japanese Saturn are quite cheap these days it would be a better way to get one of these instead of the Pal console. It would be possible do so as I my Pal Saturn has not yet shippped. I think I will get one. Thanks a lot the other comments as well. They were really helpful.

only 2 things to remember with an NTSC Saturn if youre using it in Europe.
1)remember to use a step down converter, the NTSC units run at 120v (I think 100v for Japan but its the same) , running it in Europe without a converter will most likely fry the system
2)if youre going to use an RGB SCART cable, remember that NTSC systems use a different cable from the PAL ones, as the wiring is different.

I was just about to Research what Things to use an NTSC console in Europe. Are there ways to use an japanese scat cable in an european scat Connection? Are there some Adapters out there? Or would be better to use another type of cable with the japanese Saturn?

This is your best option cable wise... providing you have a scart input. www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/sega-saturn-rgb-av-scart-ntsc-cable-tv-lead-cord-for-sale

Thanks for your List residentleever 21 . I will check it out out.
ps: Did not know that original Tomb Raider was available on the Saturn too. I thought for Sega Consoles just have Tomb Raider 4 and Chronlices for the Dreamcast. Have this games in my Dreamcast collection already. So it would be a good additon to my collection to get the original for the Sega Saturn.I wanted to check the Original out some day anyway.
