I´m not going to vote because I don´t care for any VF game. They´re not bad, but I find the character roster extremely boring. Because I suck at fighting games, I only enjoy ones that have interesting fighters, like Fighters Megamix and Mortal Kombat .... and I like the look of Vampire Savior and Elee Doran (or whatever it´s called) so I´ll probably get those too.
But yeah, all VF games look meh to me!

Im going VR:Remix as ts the only one I own. I have a memory of my granddad who was the caretaker at a school that had some sort of leisure room with a saturn which had VF:Kids in, only time I've ever played it.

VF Kids Ive sadly never played so I can't comment, to me at least its a chibi version of VF2 which can't be bad.
between the other 2 its rather interesting, VF Remix is obviously the more polished game , but in some ways I actually prefer the flat shaded look the original has.

I am not a fan of the series, I prefer 2-D fighters, especially on the Saturn. I have Virtua fighter only because it was the first saturn game. I respect the importance of it.

VF Kids is based on VF2 so gameplay wise it is much better than both. And graphically too, since it runs in double the resolution. Compared to VF2, a lot of moves work different since you are so small - there is less range on nearly every move, which makes the game different. You can't just zone or poke from far away so easily, you have to get in close. The game also runs noticeably faster than VF2. It has some extra pieces like FMV endings for everyone (some are hilarious), and a combo editor so you can do Stun Palm of Doom in 1 button press. And for the first time in VF history, it has hit sparks! VF and Remix are both good, but the gameplay is now dated. Also note that VF Remix isn't 100% better, since it lacks lightning (the Saturn has problems if you want to do both texturing and lightning at the same time). So the original game looks just as good as Remix, depending on whether you like the textured look or the flat shaded look better. It also doesn't have as many game modes as VF2 or Kids. VF Kids is by far the best of the three in my opinion, it's only downside is the chibi looks, and that one is up to taste. edit: also, VF Kids is PAL optimized, the other two are not, if memory serves. Elan Doree. And Virtua Fighter isn't about the fighters, it's about the moves. I can't think of any other fighting game move ever, that looks as painful as any special move from Akira. Or the throw moves with Jeffry and Wolf. Or the combos from Lau or Pai, or the fast strikes of Kage. Or the neckbreaker move with Sarah and Jacky. I mean this is from VF5 (I think) not VF1/2/Kids, but just look at it: You can practically hear the other guys spine snapping from that palm strike.

I really like Virtua Fighter Kids, even if it's a little unfair to compare since it's based around the improvements VF2 brought. The game did a great job of injecting some personality into the characters with the goofy endings and chibi look. It would've been nice if Sega changed up the gameplay more by adding items or a mode that was more party friendly like in Capcom's Pocket Fighter but I really enjoy playing VF Kids either way.

I skipped over all 3 of these games and went straight to VF2 but I often wondered if I was missing out but by the looks of it probably not. Of the 3, Virtua Fighter Remix looks more appealing but Virtua Fighter Kids probably has better gameplay mechanics but I'll stick with Remix for my vote.

Wow, I -completely- forgot I owned Virtua Fighter Kids back in the day. Man, I must've sold it on ebay with NHL 97 and Steep Slope Sliders back then. I don't remember -ever- playing it with my friends. It was pretty terrible by my memory. Their heads were so big you couldn't dodge anything and the moves were all over the place. It was just a novelty game. Not at all balanced.

The characters' big heads make VFK unplayable.
VFR runs smoother than the original, so it gets my vote. Doesn't hold a candle to VF2 and SEGA's other 3D fighters on the system though.
And VF2 is partially optimised, zybros. It runs in full screen and has some speed optimisation. Run it at 60Hz to see how superfast it becomes.

The big heads don't actually affect the game too much in my experience. You can still duck below kicks and such, the gameplay is about the same, it's just that bodies are smaller, so it's like the camera zoomed out.
I like it better than VF2 because it is faster, the sound effects are way better (VF2 has a bug where fx cuts off too early, and the samples are lower quality), the corny dialog of the characters work better in the chibi style bodies, and I'm a sucker for the instant replay the game does (certain special moves will trigger a replay when hit, making it look like in those animes where they repeat the same move 3 times). It really emphasizes the harder hitting moves. And there's a lot of small other details too, like the hit sparks, a few extra backgrounds, hilarious FMV endings, fishbowl head Dural, etc.
It's just the same game but way more polished. Although if VF2 had the sound not so bugged, I'd love both equally, but otherwise I'm a bit partial to VF Kids, on the Saturn.
