Not trying to spam so if this is seen as spam, my apologies.
I have been holding on to my Saturn collection since back in the day and have come to the decision that it is time to find it a new home. I love, LOVE this freaking system but we all know how the story goes. Kids come along, gaming time becomes premium, my kids do not play video games so I figure now is a good time to pull the trigger on cutting the cord. I will be lurking around here for a little while but I will be honest with you...the thought of getting up to thirty posts discussing the subject that is about to break my heart just breaks my heart. Heck, took me a few days to convince myself to register for this site just to start talking about it.
Plus there is the fact that I only have one TV that I can plug a Saturn into. It sits wrapped in a blanket, in storage, and weighs something around 1500lbs. Way too much effort to actually set it all up. I actually had to order an RF switch in order to connect to an inside TV and test the ol' girl out. Looks like hot sh*t on a current TV, how is coax still a standard thing?
Anyways I know that may sound a bit obsessive but I mean, it is the Sega Saturn we are talking about here. Anybody reading this knows the feeling I am describing. For being the third place, third generation system, it is the one that for my money has held up. Not only held up but the games are still some of the most fun games I have ever played. Even games I missed that I can now play on other platforms are ridiculously entertaining (Radiant Silvergun, I am looking at you). Sega Saturn games have so much staying power because the games have so much soul. It is really, really, REALLY hard to walk away from that BUT I know that whomever happens to swoop up any part of my collection knows the exact same thing and will take good care of it.
So yeah, there ya go. That is my story and I am sticking to it. Like I said, I will lurk around and try to get that heart breaking post count up in order to hit up the marketplace. Thanks for reading!

Don't forget to get nice clean rips of your games for the future. Sooner or later you'll get the itch. If you modchip a Saturn or download an emulator you'll have a nice library...without any viruses.
Good luck with your eventual sale.

You know what....that is actually a really good idea. I have never done it before so it will make for a good pet project before it gets sold. Thanks for the idea!

No problem. I've seen people sell collections and a few years later re-buy certain games...including myself.

Yeah, make sure you're absolutely certain before selling off your collection. I've gone through this before, as I'm sure others here have, and have regretted it, not only because of the increasing cost to rebuy your collection again.

yeah, make sure you're ready, because especially with the saturn, these prices aren't going down, and reclaiming that collection won't be easy. getting ISOs is a good start though, you can revisit it even if you don't have the proper hardware - and if you can find a decent Saturn USB controller it'll be almost like the real thing.
But of course if you sell the stuff, it should go to a decent home with folks around here.

Definitely something that demands very careful consideration, some unfortunate circumstances which left me needing a considerable sum of money very quickly, meant that I had to sell up a large chunk of my overall games collection on eBay last year as huge job lots, now I'm finally starting to recover a bit, but the sad fact of the matter is that at today's prices there are going to be many things I simply can't afford to replace for a very long time, if at all. If/when my collection ever gets back to where it was I'm probably going to be an old geezer.
