Hello,
I have Pal Saturn with original scart cable however i'm not able to obtain RGB signal on it. Just composite. Pal Saturn has 9v on pin 1 which goes to pin 8 on scart plug. I checked it by multimeter and the voltage here is unstable. It was showing 2v, after a while 4v and was dropping. Does it mean that caps are broken? Just to add i have also chinese cable which uses pin 4 - 5v and after checking i have stable 5v on pin 8 scart and tv switches to RGB without any problem. I also checked psu and all voltages are correct. 9.02 v is there. What can cause pin 1 problem ?

You confirmed with your multimeter that pin 1 is going to pin 8 on the SCART end?
Do you know the history of the console, perhaps someone tried to do a cysnc restore on it?

Yes, i confirmed pin 1 is connected to pin 8. No idea if someone was messing with that console. I bough it about 5 years ago and was using on composite. As far as i remember it was in bad condition however i would say it wasn't opened before (i bought it from very old games shop)

Another possibility they motherboard swapped it but I can't see that since they would then need to do some sort of region mod on it.

To be honest i suspect hardware problem or cable defect. I'm pretty sure it was not opened before.
