whats the worst saturn game you ever had the misfortune of playing ? the game that filled you up with a dispondant feeling of dread as it was loading and you tought oh ..this is bad when you started playing and you wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible
( and NO mention of street fighter the movie ! )
arena 51 and highway 3000 filled me with that dread i stil regret ever buying crimewave loaded is absotluley dull and most of ea's sports games fill me with a hideous kind of dread that you only get from EA sports ( nascar 98 is boring )
but the game i hate the most is doom i already dislike fps games a lot but this pimple on the arse end of gaming is an insult to the saturn the resolution is ropey the speed absmay the game play laughable resposne tiem almost non excisting the animation so choppy that the characters ons creen move ina herky jerky fashion which either gives me eppilepsy or they already got it or they are trying to show off a new dance that was all the rage in 1996
even street fighter the movie which is not all thats cracked up to be has some redeeming qualities (coaster point and laugh kylie mingoue kicking van damme's ass ) but for this miserable excuse for a game even a coaster is too good l

Been done: segasaturngroup.proboards81.com/index.cgi?board=games&action=display&thread=782&page=1But let's discuss... Looking again mine would quite possibly Saturn Doom as well! I didn't own it until around 2000 and was quite unprepared for what an utterly dire port it was, a serious embarrassment to Saturn gaming. Street Fighter: The Movie has to get a mention, the charicters even have green screen artifacts on them! I mean FFS Mortal Kombat got that right in 1992! What kid of retards can't even light for blue screening properly?! Terrible gameplay, awful sprites and backgrounds, truely a bowel churning experience! Also FIFA '98, the worst port in a sea of bad ports by EA, runs so slowly it's barely playable! Mick.

I can justify anyone having Street Fighter: The Movie because it's the only Saturn game released in PAL territories with a US-style case, though even then it's merely as a curio and not as a quality piece of software! Doom is truly awful, while I've recently mentioned in another thread just how much I was surprised by FIFA '98 - the indoor mode is quite fast and definitely playable. Returning to SFTM for a moment, is it really worse than Capcom USA's terrible arcade version? I'm thankful to whoever decided this game couldn't simply be ported to consoles, or else it would be worse... if such a thing is even possible, that is (because it doesn't have much fans as it turned out)!

Planet Joker, you need to complete the whole game to truly understand how awful it is. The last level has to be seen to be believed, it makes the rest of the game look good...

I brought Saturn Doom in 1997 with my Saturn and I actually enjoyed it. I eventually sold after it got old. At that stage 3D gaming was new to me and I guess the slowmotion action didn't bother me much. Still, even then I had an inclining that there was a problem with the game because I had had much more fun with the PC version which I had played many years before.
As for worst Saturn games:
Dragon Ball Z was pretty lame, and the non-responsive controls combined with the slow motion gameplay didn't do it many favours. Even after trying to like the game (I'd heard good things about it and was happy when it came with a bunch of titles that I got with my Japanese Saturn) it quickly found it's way into the 'sell it on ebay' pile.
Hexen was shocking. The borders were so big it could have been sold as the deluxe widescreen edition. This along with the original Daytona USA takes the cake as the worst Saturn PAL translation ever. The game moved at a sluggish pace and was no fun at all. The graphics were butt ugly and highly pixelated. Save files for the game are somehting ridiculously huge like over 2000 blocks! To top it off SSM gave this game high praise and I never did find a good reason why. I tried to like this game. I really did. But the sluggish nature of the game made me wonder why I even bothered playing when I could have been playing something like Exhumed.
