Hi there, after 10 years since I last played my mates Saturn or any Saturn for that matter, I just bought a "model 1" . I've owned a Dreamcast for the last few years, so I thought it was about time to satisfy my curiosity. I don't know all that much about this system, so I'm glad I found you guys! For me I think its more of a nostalgia thing and being a bit of a gadget than anything really(I like old s*** in other words). In a couple days I should hopefully receive a Saturn, controller, grid runner, mortal kombat II(MD days all over again:D), oh and a extra DC thrown in for good measure. So that all set me back around $75NZD($39US). I know its not a "model 2", I just like the "model 1" design better and I do think It's still one of the best designed consoles ever made(my 2 cents). So yeah I like the design, I find there is a "solid integrity" about it if that makes any sense? Anyway expect some newbie questions

Welcome to the forums cj, good to see you The model 1 has better build quality and a more reliable power board, so it's model 1 all the way as far as I'm concerned

Hi and welcome home cj SS:UK is the the place to hang out with your n00b SS questions. As for the model preference, I have a mint model 1 all boxed up and stored away. I use my model 2s for everyday use - don't really matter if they get played and worn out - replacement is cheap and plentiful. For that very reason, I keep my mk.1 stored away as I don't reckon they're so easy to get hold of. Welcome in and post loads! Paul
