Took a few shots of this to go on the site, but going to post them here first for anyone interested... Just a normal JAP Model 1 at first glance: But the big ass port gives it away somewhat: Psy-Q Sticker & number: A wide shot of the Psy-Q board: A few chip shots: The Psy-Q board intercepts the CD-Rom Board's ribbon cable in the same way that the Saturn Mod Chips do: The random red LED: The Psy-Q conection to the Saturn's power board: Unfortunately since moving yet again I've not unpacked allot of my stuff and cant find any of my step-down converters to fire her up! so more interesting images to come...

Interesting stuff. So does this run stuff on regular CDRs unaltered? (I'd imagine not, seeing that those boot-up discs are around...)

I know there are plenty of Saturn development kits floating around, but why do so many lucky owners of these systems feel content making tech demos and rarely necessary ports? Sure, the disc swap method isn't everyone's preferred way of running homebrew software (I ruined a perfectly good drive lid trying once, for the record!), though emulation is near perfect in SSF now so there's really no excuse for the lack of ambition in programming anymore.
I'd love nothing more than to see if someone could rip textures from the less polygon-intensive sections of Sonic Adventure and see if these areas could somehow be rebuilt - either from scratch or by hacking the Sonic World geometry, of this is possible at all - to create a "new" Sonic game for Saturn far superior to the officially released efforts and the less-than-promising Xtreme prototype. A recreation of Virtua Fighter 3 is perhaps a little too much to ask for, but I'm surprised there hasn't been more of an effort to make the Sonic World portion of the Jam compilation into something a little... well, larger and suitable for showing off what it actually a quite impressive game engine!

Nice shots! I have a digital version of that PsyQ manual on a branded CD-Rom. Let me know if you ever get rid of that cart dev, I sold my Rev.B in a moment of complete idiocy for FAR too little money.

I've got the floppy disks for it too. The proper power supply is missing and I won't use the one included for fear of damaging it. Not sure if it is functional but I have no reason to believe it isin't.
Not looking to sell it at anytime soon. Just my little piece of history ;D It is safely stored away most often.
Did you know you can bypass the psy-Q board and play regular games if you desire? ST-Keys & Action Replay carts (so probably Game Sharks) will let you play regular games. If you can play games without them normally then that would mean my psy-Q is messed up.
I only tested it a couple of times, I mean why do that to a psy-Q Saturn.

I like how they call it "development console", even though it's just a debug board modded onto a stock normal console. In an ugly way nonetheless.
Speaking of dev consoles, anybody has a PAL development / demo unit that has switch 4 attached to the pcb? I really wonder how they intended that thing to look, as it is crystal clear that its supposed to be a 50/60hz switch (and maybe more, I've yet to trace the other two pins).
